Others have complained of rust. Mine has been outside under the porch for a month, but exposed to moisture and no rust. I'm using it to crush quartz samples.s. That's not to say it won't rust, but more than likely, they either wore off the seasoning or it wasn't properly seasoned.

This is very sturdy and well built, however with sharp walls in the bottom, the pestle doesn’t fit enough to scrap the corners to get a perfect grind.

Absolutely love this mortar and pestle! Only reason I dropped one star is the inside isn’t rounded so it can be difficult to grind stuff down, but it’s still completely worth the buy. Love the grinding plate.
