This is the first Casper product I have returned. Every other item purchased has been great. The main issue with this pillow is it is like resting your head on a piece of concrete. Yes, I know, foam pillows are supposed to be firm. This one was way beyond firm. Hard, Unforgiving, and resulted in a stiff neck every morning. Even my cat, who basically lives on my pillow, didn't care for it. If a hard, firm pillow is what you are looking for, this might be the one for you. For my taste, and that of my cat, this is a no go.

This pillow is 3 layers as they claim. These 3 layers are combined/compressed together in a mesh cover which is in a zip cover. This compression keeps the pillow layers very densely packed together and thus they have very little give or cushion effect. This compaction keeps the “breath ability channels” from actually breathing resulting in a hot heat trapping pillow rather than a cool one. I read that they used a machine to make repeated impacts on the pillow to determine that it didn’t “dent” after long periods of use. They claimed it does not. Well I have had this pillow for a few weeks. I have the king sized one and sleep on either end and use the other end to prop up my arm at the wrist. In this very short time it has “permanent dents” in both ends as I trade ends and flip it often to get the cool side up. The cool side last about 5 to 10 minutes until it is hot. With the three layers compressed in the case it seem like they are using that method to avoid the denting. Well that is a fail. Years ago I had a true foam pillow it was very cushioned and always sprang back to its original shape even after many many years of use. It eventually broke down and disintegrated much to my horror. It seems to me that this pillow is not true lay only latex but has some memory foam in it. Memory foam always dents permanently after use and is very annoying. If I had one wish it was that my memory foam would develop Alzheimer’s.

My chiropractor suggested I get this pillow. Now I can't sleep without it. No more headaches from my neck! I was without it for a few days and my neck hurt the second I woke up. Got the pillow back and No more pain!

I really wanted this to be the right pillow for me but it's simply not high enough for side sleepers, although it worked for sleeping on my back (I constantly switch back and forth between side and back). I felt what arrived looked flatter than the advertising photos, even several days after opening it. I did enjoy the feeling of the supportive foam vs poly fill, but be aware this pillow is way heavier than you are likely used to, but not too heavy to still shift around in the middle of the night, it's around 5lbs. The pillow is a uniform thickness because it's a block of foam (vs poly fill or shredded memory foam which result in oval shaped pillows), which I had never experienced before and I ended up finding awkward to sleep on because there is no lead up to the full height of the pillow... as you are essentially sleeping on a rectangle which my neck wasn't thrilled about. The smell really was not a problem and I have a very sensitive nose, I took it out of it's liner for 24 hrs before using it to air it out and it was fine to sleep on after that point, and by 3 days later you couldn't really smell any lingering order. I like the concept of their foam sandwich technology, I just think the developers decided to reduce the height/thickness in order to keep the weight at around 5lbs which is just not enough height for a side sleeper and I consider myself a small to average sized person at 130lb and 5'7," so if your a larger side sleeper I think you will find this product way too flat. I tried using a 1inch lifter pillow under and then over it, but that didn't work for me... I really think they just needed a 3rd layer on each side of a much softer foam to give it more height. I personally have no issues with memory foam being warm and found this pillow no warmer than a shredded memory foam or poly fill.

For over a month, I'd been waking up with a sore neck and tight shoulders, which I knew had to be caused by my pillow. Since finding a good pillow is even more difficult than finding a good bra or pair of jeans, I asked my chiropractor for a suggestion. She told me about the Casper foam pillow, I went right home and ordered it, Amazon delivered it the next day, and I've had one full week of great, pain-free, comfortable and uninterrupted sleep.

I bought this pillow because I have a Casper mattress and had high hopes to get a better pillow. When my pillow arrived it was not in any packaging, so I washed the cover immediately. The pillow it’s incredibly stiff. When I first lay down it is so hard that it hurts my neck. It seems like it begins to soften after it warms up from my body heat, but falling asleep is difficult because I am so uncomfortable. So far, I am disappointed.

This is truly the pillow that kept me awake for 2 consecutive nights. It has a 5 star itch rating from me. It is extremely expensive for the price. I loved the firmness but couldn't rate the heat diffusion because I wasn't able to sleep on it for any prolonged period of time.

Exactly the pillow I was looking for. I was hesitant about buying it because other reviews said that the pillow wasn't just firm, but almost rock-like. Since it's returnable, I figured I'd give it a shot anyway and am glad I did. Yes, it's firm, but not it's not the exaggeration other reviews made it out to be. Since everyone has different preferences and there's not a universal measurement for firmness that we can refer to, I'll just say that if you have tried and know that you prefer firm pillows, this is probably a good choice for you. I've been using it for about a week now and the pillow has stayed cool through the entire night every night, I've never had to turn it. For anyone looking for a good pillow, this is definitely worth it!
