  • Great watch
The face and dial of this watch is just what I was looking for. East to read time and date against the dark background. Yeas the manual is tiny but I found an easy way around it. Download the manual to you phone and you can expand any page you need to fine tune the watch. Viola ! Good job Casio.

  • Very interesting hybrid watch
Casio makes some fabulous quartz watches at very reasonable prices. This is certainly one of them. Some like the orignal GShock are straight digital. They have great functions in an easy to read digital format. If you like the more traditional analog look, Casio makes several hybrids including this one. I like the look and "feel" of this watch. I've only just received it, and I bought it for exercising to use the stopwatch and timer functions. Once you read the instructions (and you will NEED those), it's easy to navigate through the functions. My one complaint is the digital sub screens (there are 3). These are not easy to read in lower light conditions. You can get about 1.5 seconds of light by pushing one of the buttons, but without that, it's tough. This is made more complex by the analog hands that at certain times of the day will cover up one or more of the subdials. I think there is a button combo to help move them out of the way, but this all gets rather complex. It's the price of having a hybrid. You get a lot of options, but all come with some sort of trade off. If you really need digital reads like the timer or stopwatch, and you want to see the numbers quickly and in lower light levels (like a living room in the evening), this watch may not be the best option. The original GShock would likely be a much better option. If you really like the analog style, and only occasionally need the digital functions, this could be an excellent choice. ... show more

  • Nightmarish instructions.
I have been wearing Casio watches for 40 years, enjoying timers, alarms and ease of use. This watch, while being an attractive model, makes countdown timer almost unusable. The instruction manual is microscopic and hard to follow. I have yet to be successful in using any alarm. Additionally: the watch face illumination is poor, casting a shadow on the hands making it difficult to see the hour hand when it is in certain positions. If I do make the decision again, I would pass on this watch. ... show more

  • Tried and true
Been wearing G shock watches for years. Got this one for my go to town watch. My others are work and hunting watches. Love the analog.

  • Nice Runaround Watch
This watch is rugged as most Casio G-Shock watches and is a good watch to have while working in the yard, running weekend errands, or at a sporting event. Both this and the Pro Trek series watches this user owns have been through outdoor excursions, torrential downpours, hours of snow shoveling, and yard projects, not to mention different sporting events. If you like to have four or five watches as your go to timepieces, then this and a good Pro Trek should be part of that collection. After owning several other military or outdoor style watches in $400-$1000 price range--you know, some with the fancy luminous dials--I would take these in place of them any day. ... show more

  • Waterproof, tough watch
Old G-Shock finally kicked the bucket after about 8 years. This one is very similar except for the solar power. Takes a bit to get it fully charged but once there it's been months and still full.

  • Nice clean watch for a G shock
Easy to read the hands. The digital display is a little hard read quickly which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Your have to use those small digital windows for features like stopwatch or timer. I like that it is a relatively clean face for a G shock. Many models have very busy screens. I just wanted something that could take hit and tell time and not look like it was out of the 80's. This one fits the bill for me. I did swap out the band for a more comfortable nato band using an aftermarket adapter. But the original band is honestly not that bad. Would have probably been fine if I wore it till it broke in. But I have numerous nato bands I swap out occasionally already. ... show more

  • WHAT A GREAT WATCH
This is a great watch. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on how to set it and you will have no issues setting the watch time. Looks great and I really like the night visibility of the watch face. Turn on the automatic turn on the light feature. Works great.
