    • The one I always wanted in the 80s then never got around to it.

This is a cool part of Casio's history. I wanted one as a kid but never had one, then later got a small collection of G-shocks, and multi-sensor Pro-Treks, always buying giant technical ones for their cool styling. I finally ordered this one as a fun every day watch and I love it. It's super light weight and slim, but the feel is still high in precision. It's got Casio's classic styling but understated with the reversed display and only has the calculator markings and no face markings and "WR." It may cost the same or even less than it did in the 80s, and the navy blue looks great. It's hard to go wrong for the price, and every function works perfectly with tiny but usable control buttons. The reversed display is difficult to see in low light but always seems visible when angled to the nearest light source. A back-light would be nice, but it's an excellent classic watch at an unbeatable price. Perfect! Edit: The description lists the band's width as 24mm, which is the overall width. The width at the Spring Bars if you are replacing the band is 20mm. ... show more

Love the retro looks and gets TONS of compliments and inquiries. The beige one can also be worn with greys. Only drawback of the color choice watches is that the negative display can be a challenge to see in certain light situations and no back light to assist.

I've warn the original black version for 24 years strait (see tan line and watch print picture for proof! haha). I was excited to see the white version when it was time to buy a new one (because the bands only last 2-3 years (SEE UPDATE BELOW), and the bands are more expensive than the new watch). However I could not see the white on black display in low light or bright light, making it only usable in medium light. So, I opened the watch and inserted the guts of one of my old black-on-white text versions, and now I have a white case and band with a readable face. Very easy to switch out the clock-works. You don't even need to take the battery out! So, it's a 5 star watch, minus a star for the fun, but ultimately unusable watch display. So, if you read this Casio, I love this watch, but would love it more if you could make the band more sturdy. It always ends up cracking right where the clasp is set (I always wear it in the same place). Also, I'd love a red version! UPDATE 7/11/2020: I have had new white watch for a little while now. The watch band seems like they've improved it over the black band (maybe they've made the same change to the black one now, I don't know). The new band feels more mat (less glossy) and a bit stiffer, and less rubbery. This seems like it will hold up better and hopefully won't crack as easily. I'm happy to see it seems they have tried to address the problem. I'll update this review as time goes on. ... show more

I wouldn't mind there being no backlight if the characters on the display were actually as bright and well defined as the product images show. The display is dim to the point that I thought something was wrong with it. I already own more than a dozen Casio watches, but something about the old school calculator style has always been a favorite! Wearing my white one today but was very happy with the purchase of the blue one for my younger son! He loves the color and loves that he can punch in math equations for fun! He is 8 and it fits his wrist on the 2nd to smallest size, so he will be able to wear this for years to come! Battery life is very long and even when wearing the watch while doing chores it holds up against minor bangs and scratches. Can't go wrong with Casio, comfortable and goes with any outfit!
