I hated this thing at first. It is unusually light and feels plasticky compared to expensive watches. Which, eventually caused me to fall in love with it. I wear it everywhere. It is extremely durable. I shower with it on. I wear it in the field. Time is dead on. It is super light on my wrist. It is easy to read. It has large white numbers and hands against a black backdrop. Some reviews complain about the illumination. I hit this thing with my Streamlight for a few seconds and it stays lit for several hours. Not much else I can add to what's already been said. Great watch all around. Has a large presence on the wrist, but very lightweight. Easy to forget that I'm wearing it. I upgraded the strap with a JayAndKay's one piece w/adapters. This will give you many options as to band designs such as Nato or Zulu. I prefer the one piece Nato straps. Check out their ebay store. Using the JayAndKays adapters makes adding/changing bands a snap. You can even get replacement bezels and other parts for this on AliExpress to customize it more if you like. Amazon made a mistake and sent me a green one with orange letters when I ordered the black version. Instead of sending it back, I kept it and got a $10.00 gift card from amazon for their error and ordered the preferred black bezel on AliExpress for $8&change. It's impressive what you get for your money with Casio watches. A solar watch like this one for less than $50. If all you're looking for are features and quality, with an expected life of 5-10 years before the plastic band, etc, breaks, these can't be beat. If you're looking for basic luxury, go to Citizen or Seiko and spend upwards of $100 more. It's great that Casio makes such good watches at the low end. ... show more

WHAT I WANTED: I needed an inexpensive watch to remind me to take medications, and I wanted a Casio as opposed to a no-name because of their reputation with inexpensive digital watches. With five alarms and a good price, this seemed like a good choice. SO FAR SO GOOD: I've had it about a week, and so far, it works fine. The alarms are loud enough for what I need, but not annoying. For me, all the rest of the stuff (shock-resistance, water-resistance, solar power, digital display options, etc.) is a bonus: unexpected and nice to have at the price point I wanted. CHARGING: There is a lot of fussy language in the documentation about exposing it to sun and keeping it charged. I don't think you need to worry about. On arrival mine had a middling charge. After only a couple hours outside, it was fully charged. The documentation says a fully charged watch can work up to 10 months without further light. So, don't drop it in a drawer and forget it--wear it once in a while and don't fret about charging. SETUP: It takes a while to set up (an hour or so) but that's expected for a multi-function digital watch. Once you figure out the buttons and how to cycle through the digital display menus, it's fairly easy. CONS: I have three small issues. One, the documentation that came with is VERY tiny print. (I assume there is a digital version that is easier to read.) Two, although the large analog display (the watch "hands") is large and easy to read, the digital display is tiny, hard to read, and parts of it are often hidden by the hands. Practically speaking, the digital display is mainly for setting the watch up, checking battery, etc., and occasional informal use of stopwatch, date, battery indicator, universal time, etc. If you use such features a lot, you will find this watch frustrating and you should look for something else. Three, it's a little larger than I prefer, but that's not a huge issue. OVERALL: Assuming it holds up, and assuming you don't use the extra digital features a lot, it's a surprisingly good value for the price. ... show more

This is my second time I bought this watch. Wear it out in the woods and beat it up, and get it muddy, get it wet. As someone once said, “It takes a licking and keeps on ticking”. No batteries needed. Only had to replace it when my dog chewed on the watch band. Cheaper to buy a new watch than take it in and get a new band. ... show more
