    • Inexpensive (not cheap) Low Profile Watch

I am an adult male who needed a cheap, low profile watch for nursing school. I needed a watch that was easy to clean and one that had a second hand. The watch face is tiny but it is so simple and uncluttered, reading it is no problem. The watch band is also small but fits me, however heavier people or men with thick wrists should probably look elsewhere. It is easy to clean but so cheap I will probably throw it away and get another if I scratch the face. Honestly the watch feels both cheap and high quality. It is light and extremely low profile (almost flush with my wrist). I chose this over a swatch because swatches are supposedly quite loud. This watch is very quiet and functional! It is almost funny that they sent instructions with this watch, because there is one knob to set the time and there are no other knobs or settings. I hate watches and never wear them but I forget that I even have this one on. I will probably keep an extra as backup. This is the best watch I've ever owned. Obviously I don't buy expensive watches, but it's just fantastic. The watch face is just the right size for my wrist (which is about 2 3/4" wide or so); alternatively, you could say that the face is a bit larger than a quarter, or about the size of a modern US Dollar coin. It is extremely easy to read, stays accurate, and came already working out of the box. Shipping was quick, as well. Other good things: the band is made of a wonderful material (must be the "resin" that they talk about in the title) that is flexible and rubber-like but without being "grabby" (anybody else remember those old Casio digital watches that would snag your wrist hairs and hurt like hell? Not today!). Great material. The watch also looks much better in person than in the pictures, which is nice because it already looks good in the pictures. It's also very comfortable to wear. Really can't recommend this watch enough. Now for the negatives: If you are an average sized man (we'll call that 5' 11" 165 lbs), then you may find that the size of the face of this watch looks a little small on your wrist. You can check this by placing a dollar coin on your wrist and seeing how that looks; if it looks small, you might not be happy with the appearance of this watch on your wrist. Other negatives: none.     • A Conversation Piece - A Bargain Worth Talking About
A great bargain. Easy to read the time on this watch without eyeglasses, it works and keep good time, seems to be at least somewhat water resistant (if there's a tiny bit of rain, or the like), and when the battery finally runs out after more than two years, the watch is so inexpensive you might as well just buy another one instead of finding a watch dealer and paying for a new battery. You never have to worry about losing an expensive watch because no matter what happens, you can afford to buy another one of these if you have to. Also, it's a nice-looking watch. And unlike a leather band, with will eventually tear as you take the watch on and off your wrist repeatedly, this band may last till the next Ice Age. The only drawback is that the band, being plastic/rubber, doesn't "breathe". But I suppose you can replace the band if you want-- though that would cost more than the watch. And the band looks just fine. There's a reason so many people have bothered to review this bargain watch. It's an unusually impressive thing. In this day and age, when you get something of quality like this watch, and are asked to pay incredibly little for it, you really wonder how it's possible. And yet it really is. You'll feel proud of yourself for having found such a great bargain on a quality item, and it will give you something to talk about at your next party. I can't tell you how many times I've bragged about having found this watch. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that there are obviously better watches in the world someplace, costing hundreds or thousands of dollars. But at this price, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best watch in the world. And for me, it's much better than most watches costing even far more, because I can read the time on it, it's more than presentable for all public events, and I never have to worry about losing it or damaging it because it can be replaced with another one.     • Ideal watch for me but be careful when you set it

All I wanted was a watch that was light weight, comfortable on my wrist, easy to read, and accurate. I didn't need calendar, stopwatch, waterproof to 300 feet or any other fancy features. This is my second Casio of this model. The wrist strap broke on the first one after about three years and a new strap would have cost about the same as a new watch. Also the battery was most likely approaching end of life. So for $12 I took the plunge and bought a whole new watch. My initial reaction to the new one was that it was horribly inaccurate. In the first few hours it lost about 5 minutes. I requested a replacement but the next day I discovered that it was no longer losing time. It turned out that I had not followed the instructions for setting the time. When you read the fine print it tells you that you should set the watch to four or five minutes past the current time and then turn it back before pushing in the crown. After I did that it has been accurate within a few seconds a month. BTW, Amazon responded immediately by sending me a replacement but since I was happy with the original when the replacement arrived I sent the replacement back unopened. ... show more

    • Great, cheap watch to watch
I bought this watch to use on a standardized test that forbids digital timers of any kind. Before the test began, I set the time to 1:00 and pushed the stem in when the proctor announced "GO!" It worked well, during the four hour part of the exam, it was three seconds ahead of the 'official' time and during the three hour part it was spot on. The black Arabic numbers on a white face are very easy to read. It is very much worth the price. It keeps excellent time, the only caveat is that the thing is a bit small for me to use as an everyday timepiece. It is accurate, clean looking and cheap, what more could a person want? What? You want an Omega Sea-master? Just spend $3200+ more and you have a nice watch that keeps time just as well. ... show more

I'm a first responder and I wanted to replace my current watch. I didn't want to spend a lot on the new watch because it'll get damaged (like my last one). I ordered this item since it had sooo many positive reviews. I was excited when I received the item. At first it wasn't accurate then I read the manual and set it according to the instructions. It worked... then I noticed the seconds hand was off. I noticed that around 40s-55s, the seconds hand would "tick low" as if it wasn't strong enough to move upwards against gravity--the hand would tick in between the tick marks/numbers. I thought my eyes were deceiving me but I watched it for 10 minutes and checked again at another time (on my wrist, on the table, and even on the stand) and again, around 40s it would struggle to move up but tick a full second in between the marks. If I didn't need it for vitals, I would recommend this watch. It's cute, basic, and clear. The face doesn't scratch that easily. ... show more
