  • Good stuff - got the job done
Size: 2FT X 5FT
I used this stuff to wrap the front of a portable AC unit. All of the furniture in my basement is black or with a wood grain pattern so the white AC was really out of place, it was practically glowing. I should preface this review by mentioning that I have never wrapped anything before. A while back I considered wrapping my laptop but with the way I'm so particular about very small details I always felt like the wrapping process would drive me crazy and I would never be happy with the end result. This AC project didn't require nearly as much precision as wrapping a laptop so I was willing to give it a try. The end result was pretty good. I ended up with a few creases toward the bottom around the left hand edge but it's virtually impossible to see that. I was mainly concerned with getting the front of the unit a smooth matte black. Mission accomplished. This wrap was fairly easy to work with. I was able to pull it off and re-apply it over and over as I worked my way down from top to bottom. I didn't have a squeegee or whatever other tools you're supposed to use, instead applying it by hand all the way down. I didn't use any heat at all either. On the bottom I had about a half inch of fold under so I used some electrical tape to secure the bottom edge. I'm not sure how well it will hold up but since it will be inside I think it ought to be fine. If it starts peeling off I'll have plenty more to try it all again. Final notes: - Dimensions: I dunno what dimension is supposed to be 2 feet, but this roll was absolutely not 2 feet in either dimension. I haven't completely unfurled it but I'm assuming that's the 5 foot dimension. The roll I received is 3 feet tall. So I'm pretty sure I received a 3'x5' product. This worked out ok but I was counting on the 2' roll as I would have only had to cut out my piece in one direction rather than trim it in two directions. - Packing: the outer packaging was a sturdy cardboard box with some paper which offered ample protection during shipping. However, there were two very annoying pieces of tape used to keep it from unfurling in its packaging. This tape left a slight oily sheen on the matte surface which I didn't realize until after I had cut the piece to size and applied it. I was able to "buff out" the oily sheen with a dry rag. ... show more

  • No regrets! This stuff is great!
Size: 3FT X 5FT
Did a beautiful job of transforming the ugly metal surfaces in my kit to a professional appearance. Easy enough to use for my beginner self.

  • Best of many challenging options.
Size: 10ft x 5ft
Very easy to install on a flat surface in a cool room. But! You might need to install this outside (we don't have a garage) or under warmer conditions (hey, you only get the time you get) or on a highly curved surface (like... parts of many car panels). And it's hard. The videos make it look easier than it is. I'm handy, and it's still tough. A couple hours to do the hood, and there are imperfections that annoy me. When it gets warm, it gets too sticky, and then it's hard to adjust and get air bubbles out. If you need to wrap onto contours, it will want to wrinkle. It's very challenging to get it to lay flat. Sometimes, for large enough contours, it just cannot stretch enough to lay on the surface. Getting the edges right is tough. The material will contract slightly when heated, or recoil slightly from the stretching you needed to do to get it into place, revealing the material underneath. It's tough to cut it evenly, and *not* to scratch the surfaces underneath. It's tough to heat up the material enough to get the stretch you need without overheating it. In the videos people use blow torches, but this is very tricky. The best tool for us, in the end, was just a hair dryer. The end result in our case was that most sections of the material look awesome, maybe 99.9%. But that last 0.1% is noticeable if you're looking for it: little wrinkles in a couple contoured spots, little exposed edges near difficult-to-cut spots, and some places where the matte has relaxed into more of a shiny finish in overheated spots. If you realllly want to change the color of a panel of your car, and you don't want to pay a professional or make it permanent, then this is probably the best option. Just get ready for several hours of frustrating work and an imperfect finish. ... show more

  • Easy wrap to install and looks good
Size: 1ft x 2ft
The wrap is super easy to install because it doesn’t set until you apply heat. I bought a cheap heat gun and easily set it in place. Because it doesn’t set until you apply heat. It was easy to reposition so that it fit perfectly. It was much easier to use than other wraps. It made installing the wrap stress-free. ... show more

Good product but came damaged and wasn’t able to get a replacement

  • Makes cheap stuff look like pro gear 🔥
Size: 1ft x 5ft
I’ve been using matte black vinyl car wrap on random 3D prints and some of my everyday electronics, and honestly it makes them look like they came that way from the factory. It hides a lot of the layer lines and cheap plastic shine, and the finish is that perfect “not too shiny, not too chalky” matte. Once you get the hang of using a heat gun and a squeegee (or an old credit card if you’re fancy like me), it stretches nicely around simple curves and corners. For the price, it’s kind of ridiculous how much more “premium” everything looks. It’s not perfect though. Tight, complex curves and tiny details can be annoying, the vinyl will crease or want to lift if you rush it. Edges on high-touch spots (like phone cases or remote controls) can start to peel if you don’t wrap them around far enough or really press them down. Dust and lint show up while you’re applying it too, so surface prep actually matters more than you’d think. But for a literal fraction of the cost of special matte filaments or custom parts, this stuff is 100% worth it, it’s basically a cheap little “pro finish” hack. ... show more
