I love this watch and no I did not receive any compensation in any way for this review. I am personally a fan of citizen watches and highly prefer metal bands to other material types. The plastic watch bands generally make me sweaty and end up smelling or getting a white residue. This watch somehow defies every thing I know about plastic type bands. I had a gshock with a metal band for about 15 years before it kicked the bucket, it legit saved me from breaking my wrist when the face took the whole brunt of a commercial freezer door shutting on my arm. It is hard to find metal banded gshocks and if found they are more than I am willing to pay. I saw this watch and it intrigued me as it was both a gshock and my favorite colors (blue and gold, buffalo sabres fan for life here..). I decided to gamble since the price point was pretty low and I have not been disappointed. I wear this every single day, all day. No sweaty wrist, no residue, no arm hair pulling. It's durable and looks awesome. It is not a super huge face which is a big plus for me since I do not have overly large forearms or hands. I LOVE this watch. Now, this is coming from a person who hesitated to pay more than $15 for a watch 2 weeks ago. The beautiful blue color definitely makes this watch stand out. It turns many heads and many people ask about it. PROS: 1. Beautiful Color 2. Beautiful Design 3. Contrary to what others say, the band seems like it is very high quality. I guess only time will tell if it is. 4.Very Comfortable:I barely realize i am wearing this watch until i look at it. 5.VERY VERY VERY TOUGH: This thing has been through the 10 degree weather of Yosemite and still looks and works like new. I also froze this watch to see if it would still work, and needless to say, it did. That's funny because on YouTube, i saw someone that froze their Mudman and it didn't work anymore. Now for the worst part of the review. CONS 1.The watch looks a little weird with the 4 black and silver pins; but that is personal preference. 2. This does not have many features. (hence the price) Now, i know that there a few cons, but they don't really make a difference. The only difference i see now is that i bought this watch for $45 but is NOW listed for $64.99. That's pretty interesting. This is my first G-SHOCK, but i look forward to collecting many more. OVERVIEW: This is an amazing watch that is very attractive, practical and COOL. I understand that a $15 watch has the same features as this, but can it go 200M (~700 ft) in water? That's what i thought. This will turn heads where ever you go, which should be everywhere. The stock photo on Amazon is CRAP, so i will upload some of my own. Great watch, excellent deal! I have been wanting another G-Shock ever since my previous one quit on me years ago, and I finally found one in the color I wanted too! I won't lie, it's bulky on a small arm, for an average size person it would likely be the perfect fit. Easy to set once you figure the buttons out. Read the user manual though, it will save some grief and possibly a watch that wouldn't be covered under warranty. I had one of the first G-Shocks, talking late 90's. This one wont take as much abuse as my last one, but I am sure the one I got for my gf might since she works construction type stuff, so we shall see how hers holds up. See if they still make them like they used to. If she tells me in a few months from now hers is broken already maybe she will post about it. I purchased this G-Shock after reading the many reviews of the same model in black, DW9052-1. Some dislike the animations of the seconds filling in across the width of the dial face and sections of the circle in ten second intervals. Personally it's rather cool to watch, always seems to catch your eye. The outstanding feature is the deep blue bezel and band with the yellow G-Shock and G on the illumination button. The color alone draws questions from people about the piece. It is shown on Amazon as a "rubber" watch case and band, which it seems to be, much softer to the touch and flexible, more so than the resin on other G's I have. Great module and basic feature set. The crystal is protected by a good molded lip on the bezel so scratches on the mineral crystal are nominal. Overall a great watch. ... show more

This is my first time purchasing a G-Shock so i cant really compare to others. However, I bought this for my boyfriend and i find it to be a very good product. At first the wrist band looks a lil short but it does fit! I like the fact that the G logo is actually a light when u press it. Gave it four stars just because i cant really compare it to the others. I bought this about 5 years ago and it's still going strong. I wear it every day for about 15 hours teaching, coaching, doing construction and landscaping projects, and etc. I'm a bigger guy and I'm rough on stuff as well. But, it's by FAR the best sport style watch I've ever owned and my first (but not my last) G Shock. Like I mentioned already, this works great and I wear it every day. It can be dressed up and worn business casual or be worn completely casual. It's still on the original band and battery and shows no signs of needing replacement; it's been a zero maintenance watch. I felt the need to review this watch because I came across the same watch on Amazon just now as I was shopping new ones. To be clear, I don't need a new one. I just thought that it'd be fun to get a new one in a different color. This gets my full endorsement- they are built to last and that isn't the case with most things these days. UPDATE 5/15/20: I no longer wear this watch every day like I once did. It's now my work only watch as I replaced it with a G Shock Mudmaster a few years ago. So, I only put it on every so often. I had a Casio watch I purchased in the 1980s which still runs great. I had been looking for another one, but was kind of put off by the higher price points. Casio watches are generally better than most other watches of its type, but they last longer. I saw this one, and the price was right. I am very satisfied with it. I really like the blue rubber construction, which is not too "over the top", and looks good being worn by a mature person. The watch has a full electro luminescent backlight, and is very bright. Many digital watches sold now have backlight which only illuminate the numerals and not the entire display, but thus one does.
