Great little pocket calculator. I bought 3 to use in my pharmacy and the staff really likes it. Just fit inside the pocket perfectly. Great calculator, this is my second time to purchase. They last well in a veterinary setting where they get jumped on by animals, dropped, sprayed with disinfectant and are handled throughout the day. First one lasted 3 years, finally succumbed to getting soaked and the screen would not work. Buttons are easy to push.

I'm a lab geek, and use a calculator every breath I take. I LOVE this little calculator. I've use one every work day for 6 years I suppose, A LOT. It still functions as new. I actually lost it, cried for days until my new one arrived from Amazon. Hurray! They didn't change the design! Plus I found my old one as soon as I opened the new one, naturally. I have used $1 store, Offull Max, Wmart, Wgreens, etc., junky pocket calculators. They are all horrid for heavy use. They have sticky or crunchy buttons, non-responsive buttons, buttons in odd places...just yuk. Usually give them to kids or leave them out to be stolen or often as not, get pizzed-off and throw them or have a fit and just stomp on them in front of wide eyed co-workers. These Casios however, I'll fight for. They are the absolute Rolls Royce of pocket calculators. Hell I'll buy another one now just because they are so good.

Sometimes I just want an old fashioned, hand held calculator cause I'm either using or charging my phone. This is all I need. The solar aspect is great so I don't worry about batteries either failing with non-use, or corroding because I live near the beach and the salt air is hard on batteries. It doesn't take much light in order to activate this either - - - normal daylight or average overhead room lighting is more than sufficient. The buttons are easy to push and the display large and easy to read even without my readers on. The price is great so I got one for the upstairs home office and another to keep in my kitchen drawer.

Oh my gosh I love this calculator! It’s such a great buy for the price! It’s not too big, not too small, perfect for exams that require a basic calculator. I use this on my desk too when balancing my checkbook. It’s something so simple, but just so convenient to have. It’s cheaper and nicer than any other calculator from Walmart and it’s a life saver because it doesn’t require batteries-it’s solar powered! A must have for anyone!

It's was $3.99 when I bought it, its now selling for $3.29! I know its Chinese, and I feel really bad for what must be the situation of the people who physically made it, but its really a bargain. My only complaint is, its a bit small for my hands. They provided the dimensions on the listing and they are fairly accurate, but its hard to know until you hold something. I would not want to use it all the time and I keep a real desktop calculator in my office for work use. I keep this on the couch next to me while playing my evening round of video game golf to calculate wind and elevation adjustments. It doesn't get a lot of use, and its small size doesn't take up much space. I saw a reviewer say its metal. While the front is a metallic finish I dont believe its actually metal...and metal is one of my expertise.

I loved my old Casio and it has lasted for probably over 20 years living in the kitchen junk drawer solely powered by solar. But alas, all good things must comes to an end. I agree the new Casio, model HS-8VA, is too small. Even though the description says it's 2.5 inches wide it's 2.2 inches. The old one was 2.7 inches and that half inch makes a huge difference in comfort in hand. Also, the case that came with the old calculator, gave it some heft so it didn't "bounce" around when pressing keys. This new one is so light and small, one has to exert a bit of a firm grip to hold it steady. It also doesn't have a MC key and the AC key doesn't seem to clear memory consistently. It has cleared it a couple of times but I haven't yet figured out what I've done. Pressing the key twice or thrice or press and hold seems to clear the memory-- occasionally. I guess I could use M- but that can be awkward with long numbers. For the money though, this is nice to have around.
