    • What's not to like?
As advertised. What I wanted. I was looking for an understated, no-frills, smaller-and-thinner-than-is-currently-fashionable, analog watch with a gold-colored bezel and a brown leather band. The date is smaller than I'd like, but that observation appears elsewhere in the comments string, as well as from the most casual observation of the picture, so not unexpected. Moreover, that feature was not something I cared about particularly in the first instance; I usually know what day and date it is; having all that mechanism in the watch movement tends to make the case thicker, anyway, something I wanted to avoid. The band on this one tends more towards a burgundy, but - again - that's what it looked like in the picture. Besides, leather watch bands wear out and can be replaced. Arrived intact, well-packaged, and early. Very pleased with the watch and the seller's performance. Very good to excellent value for the money. I'd definitely do it again. ... show more

    • Date Set Works Fine; Nice Watch
Despite what has been written, the date set on my watch works perfectly. You just pull out the stem to the first detent and turn until the date appears in the window. You might have to go through 30 days because it doesn't go backwards, but that is not much of an inconvenience in my book. Otherwise, the watch is easy to read and I particularly like that the crystal is recessed into the case for protection against scratching. Weak spot is probably the band, which I can foresee wearing pretty quickly, but that is easily remedied. Reasonable watch, great price. Five stars when new. We'll see how it ages. ... show more

    • Sharp, classy, bulletproof, & reddish watch
Looks very sharp, classy, and bulletproof. There is a slight protrusion of the steel case around the edge of the face, which is a positive, as that helps to protect the face from scratches. The all-gold design looks very classy and the face of the watch is bigger than the MTP1094Q-9A and also has a date display. There is also an identical version of this watch with a white face, but that one doesn't look quite as nice as the all-gold look on this watch. Simply a matter of preference, but to me, the white face on the other watch looks cheap while the all-gold look on this watch looks very classy. Some things to be aware of: The leather band isn't a deep brown as in the Amazon picture; it's more of a dark red. And after a while, the coating on the leather wears off, making it an even brighter red. The band is also very stiff when first worn and takes some time to break in. However, this watch is definitely worth the ~$20. It looks like a much more expensive watch and will definitely draw complements! Would buy again and definitely recommend! ... show more

Casio General Men's Watches Strap Fashion MTP-1183Q-9ADF - WW - I love the watch. Very nice and the leather wristband is good quality. It has a slightly smaller face on it, which is what I wanted, however the battery died after three weeks of wearing it. I have purchased four different watches on Amazon and this is the second one that needed to have the battery replaced a few weeks after purchase. I expect any watch that I buy to last at least a year before needing a battery replacement. ... show more

The size is a little vague. It's a 37mm watch but wears bigger like a 39 or 40mm. I displayed a picture of my 7" wrist with a 38mm Timex Weekender for comparison. Update: the watch I purchased does not have a working date quickset. Another words, I have to manually wind the crown to get a desired date, which can be tedious to say the least. It's a good looking watch, it works well and actually looks even better than the picture. I only have a couple of things that I was a bit not happy about. The first is that the frame of the watch it is proper plastic, not steel or any strong material, bare plastic. The second one is that I used the watch to swim a couple of times and the "leather" on the two little wrist holder has basically gone away. Again, for the price I believe this is the deal, although I am intent to buy a more expensive watch to get the steel and a proper leather wristband. ... show more
