    • The vendor is definitely 5 stars but the watch is more like 4 stars.
First, the vendor sent the watch that I recieved only a few days after ordering It. I expected it to be recieved after two weeks of waiting. Fast is very nice! Now I can correct the basic description of the watch. I am a watch maker and I'm able to fix or repair just about any watch, so adjusting the band is no problem, but if you haven't tried to do this it will take some time and a little anger. (The band has enough links to fit almost any size wrist no worry there) Try to measure so that the clasp is opposite the watch in the middle of the underside of the wrist. Now correcting the specifications: Watch is on the thick side to suit me (I have a very small wrist and I was looking for a 34mm diameter watch with a thin case.... (to bad but no one makes such a watch for men) The case measures 9.4mm thick with a diameter of 37mm. Even Rolex stopped making 34mm men's cases. Even though it seemes a little large on my wrist, it looks OK. The case is not marked stainless steel but the case back is marked SS caseback. I believe it probably is stainless but it should be marked accordingly. The quality of the case is not equal to the quality dial and hands but it seems to be acceptable. The band quality seems OK too. The band diameter measures 20mm at the case (not 25mm). One odd observation about the watch----the "gold" bezel stands above the crystal about 1mm. Every watch I have seen the bezel is either flat or slightly sunk below the crystal. (That would make easier cleaning of the crystal face.) Oh well, nothing is really perfect! ... show more

Okay, so this is an inexpensive Casio sports watch -- some things get a pass. What you should perhaps be aware of is that the case finishing does not match that of the dial. It is rough to the point of looking unfinished. Even the uber cheap bracelet has better finishing. The dial, however, is actually very good and the second hand hits every marker. The folded-link bracelet is a pain to adjust as is to be expected. I broke my favorite tool getting the shims out. With a little sanding and polishing this timepiece might be salvageable. What to like? Well, it's closer to vintage size. In a world of dinner plates, this is refreshing. The case diameter is listed as 36mm but it came in at 37mm on my calipers. Also, as mentioned before, the dial is better than any watch has a right to be at the lower end of the spectrum. In my opinion the designers and engineers seem to have focused their efforts here and cut corners everywhere else. The bracelet is 'OK'-ish but just so. I'd go up market if your budget allows. If it doesn't, well then there is nothing wrong with the MTP-1183. It doesn't feel substantial and I cannot speak to the overall durability as I have only had it long enough to size it and put it on. However, from a distance it has a certain charm. I mean, the design is safe and maybe even classic looking and I think that two-tone as well as gold might be coming back into vogue here soon. Put it on a Barton leather strap and see what happens! ... show more
