Description

With the never ending pursuit of toughness and technology, G-Shock introduces a solar atomic addition to the tough and rugged G-Rescue series. Already renowned for its four point protection design, large case, over sized buttons, tide and moon graphs, this fresh model keeps the same design philosophy of allowing for high functionality and operability, in the harshest conditions, even while wearing gloves. With its monotone, grey IP coloring and aperture band design, this fresh addition to the G-Rescue series not only looks tough, it also very comfortable to wear. • This negative display is terrible
Everything ok with the product and order.

  • Loved the watch
Loved the watch. I have owned it for about 10 months. Didn't wear it every day, but after about 3 months of constant wear, one day the battery indicator went to low (after being outside in sunlight nearly every day) and the display started flashing "low." Backlight and other features won't work at this point. I charged it the next day, all day, in sunlight, and it never made it past medium charge. The watch now occasionally goes to low, despite being outside (I work outside) daily, in the sunlight. It will no longer go up to "high" charge state. Disappointed! Very! My Citizen Eco-Drive Nighthawk has been beaten beyond what any watch should have gone through and survived, and has been bullet proof. Not one single problem, for 7 years now. I would expect a G-shock to at least perform as well. It did not. I'm debating on another G-shock, or an Eco-drive. But am tempted to not go with another G-shock. Citizens seem to be the toughest and best solar powered watches on the market. I've had 3, and never a problem. Near perfect time keeping, too. Update 9/15/17: Left it in south-facing window for one month and forgot about it. Runs perfect now, and has, for 8 months, run perfectly. Love it!!! Great watch, and have beat the heck out of it. Still runs perfect. Changing my rating from 3 stars, to 5! Yes, it is difficult to read in low light, but if you are reading the reviews, you're going to be well aware of that. Awesome watch. ... show more

  • Does my top 10 needs and probably yours :)
I received my GW7900-1B today. It arrived as described. I found the time easy to read in bright and medium light. Not as easy in low light but push the g-light and you can read it all. I almost didn't order it because of many reviews on low charging for the solar battery. Mine arrived with the right time, date and with the battery charged to high. As for comfort I have small wrist but do enjoy large adventure style watches. This one fit the bill. Yes it is large but on my small wrist it fits very comfortable with the "paddles" under the main watch. Holds firmly and fits well…also very light. As for features, it is the perfect watch for my needs. I have owned many watches including Gw-9300er-5jf (super cool limited he-man watch but with the terrible star in the back when you use the backlight). What I really needed and wanted was 1) solar powered 2) atomic setting 3) very durable 4) moon phase 5) tide phase 6) easy to read 7) dual or world time zone 8) stopwatch 9) countdown timer 10) multiple alarms. While having a watch that can do temperature, barometric pressure, compass, etc… is neat I really have no uses for those. Some might and some might just like having a "GI-Joe" watch. In the end I got exactly what I needed…comfortable watch that met my top 10 list. I will post updates as I own the watch but for now it arrived on time, for a good price and works perfectly! ... show more

  • Great looking watch
Great looking watch. Great features. Solar powered. Automatic time sync. Amazing aesthetic. Every feature works as described. The manual is in-depth. The only downside is that you need to charge it every now and then by leaving it in the sun/light. I think that solar technology has a great future which is why I wanted to buy this watch. Also the fact that it will update its time keeping if you leave it near a window. Awesome. I wonder how far we can go with time keeping if this is cutting edge at this point. Bought as a replacement to the Casio Illuminator model that I previously like for many years and is no longer available. Liked the black tones and the moon and tide functions along with the auto atomic clock update function which works as expected, no issues. Has stayed Fully charged so far but it has only been 1 week. Good basic sport watch with a few extra functions. ... show more

  • Too dark to see
The display is so much darker than the example photo. It really could only be read in direct sunlight. Even the built in light did not help much.

  • Excellent watch
Excellent watch. This is the second tough solar I have owned. The first had issues on keeping charged up even with being in light for hours. No issues so far.
