  • Beautiful knife
Size: 2.8" Color: Blue Bone
This is such a beautiful knife and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking into trying a Case knife and wanted it to be on the smaller side, lock-back, and have a bone handle. I also wanted a carbon blade, but when I ran across the blue one and couldn’t find a carbon blade version, I went with he stainless version. This arrived in the box packaging, which I find to be neat. The bone looks a little lighter, especially in the darker, middle area than the pictures show, which makes it even prettier, in my opinion. The bone handle is smooth with three out of the four pins being flush (the larger one seems intentionally proud). The Case shield is flush on one side, but sticks up on the other. It feels like it’s sturdy in there, but is annoying to catch my thumb on. Transitions are mostly smooth, but some areas are a little more catchy and grabby, but that is to be expected of Case. I believe most of these can be remedied. The lock works very smoothly and is easy to disengage. The blade looks to be perfectly, or at least near perfectly centered. There is no blade wobble side-to-side or up-and-down. The blade had a very noticeable burr from factory and had a catchy kind of cut. A little honing and stropping and the blade is sharp enough that I am happy. I flushed out the moving parts just to clean up any factory gunk and, of course, this resulted in the knife operating even more smoothly. The point isn’t very sharp at all - nothing compared to the Buck 55’s point, but I think it’s fine for my intended uses - mentioning this for those who expect that point to be super sharp. Overall, this knife is absolutely beautiful. In Case fashion, there are rougher parts of the knife and it does require just a little love right out of the box to have it ready to go the way many would like/expect. I am very happy with this knife and highly recommend it to anyone who is aware that there will be little imperfections, but that they will still receive a beautifully made knife that should last a long while. ... show more

  • Absolutely perfect fit and finish
Size: 2.7" Color: Amber Bone
First of all this knife was made on my birthday and that’s awesome. More importantly I have almost a dozen case knives and only about 1/3 of them have had the level of perfection in the fit and finish department as this one. Everything is as it should be, blade is dead center, zero blade play, both covers match, no gaping between the cover and the bolsters, no gaping in the spacers or liners, the tip is actually sharp and pointy unlike some other case knives I have had to re-profile (I’m looking at you medium stockman clip blade), the grind is even on both sides, no proud pins, shield is glued in properly-not proud. I have had to send a few knives back due to blade play, ridiculously uneven grinds, large gaps, blade being way too off center to where it hit the liner and dulled the blade. Collecting Case knives has come with heart ache and frustration in recent years due to things going into the box that should have not. But it’s worth it, these knives are one of a kind when they are good they are GOOD. I hope this is a sign of improved QC, I am hopeful and Case is the last man standing when it comes to being an old company still creating beautiful made in America traditional knives. I highly recommend this knife it is the perfect size for EDC and is a non threatening grandpa style knife that people would not be threatened by. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Case XX Amber bone mini-Copperlock knife 61947L SS
Size: 2.7" Color: Amber Bone
The Case XX Amber bone mini-Copperlock stainless steel knife is a top quality Gentleman's small sized folding pocket knife . Very well made, excellent materials and finish, easy to open and close, no half lock but fully opened or closed it has a great snap sound and it has a super sharp clip point blade right out of the box. It fits easily into the 5th ( ticket ) pocket of a pair of jeans and is thin enough to fit into a large size wallet without protruding. The price on Amazon fluctuates, I paid almost $61 and $7 shipping and currently its down to $57 plus shipping . On other websites it goes for between $56 to $89 but shipping costs are often in the $20 to $35 range. The only negative is it took far too long to be delivered some 21 days to reach me from the date of purchase, normally my Amazon orders take 4-7 days to arrive and this purchase took 3 weeks because it was sent using DHL and then handed over to my local post office for delivery rather than a DHL courier delivering it! I do however recommend this knife to anybody buying a Case xx knife for the 1st time as its reasonably priced ( I have 2 other larger more costly Case XX knives - both top quality Copperlock models ) ... show more

  • Awesome knife!
Size: 2.7" Color: Dark Red Bone
Awesome knife!.... it holds an edge and I like the Coppperlock. The locking mechanism works spectacularly and only has one draw back, you need to clean it, if you butcher then after you are done wash is because you can get fat and sinew built up in the locking action. The blade is Chrome Vanadium CV, the same steel that made Case famous in our fathers generation. We all know those old guys still looking for the double X on the blade, but Case marks everything that way today and the double X is not not what it used to mean. The Majority of Case knifes today are Stainless Steel, which is good steel, but... but yeah not not the hardest, springiest and least brittle, or sharpest steel that can be made. Yet,this blade is the original Case Steel and what Case used to be. Chrome Vanadium CV is shiny and hardly rusts.... if you buy a case knife, then buy one that says CV. Trust me, Chrome Vanadium doesn't hardly tarnish if you take care of it, you sharpen less often, and it cuts better..... As far as the copperlock configuration goes, the style of Case knife you choose is subjective.... and really whatever it is you prefer. Im a cattleman and like the shape of this blade, it also works for hunting too and a couple of my friends during elk season permanently borrowed this knife from me and I had to get another. .... my father is a sheepherder 60+ years and is a schrade old timer man.... but he is cheap.... and even he admits he buys those knives because they are cheap. ... yeah... I'm different, I like a good knife, this coopperlock mini of CV steel is the knife I use for work. ... show more
