I've been a fan of Case knives since I was a kid and own about 10. This is the 1st one I've tried of their locking blade designs. The opening action drags and is super slow, not opening fully more than 1/2 the time. Even when it opens fully, the locking mechanisms doesn't always fully engage and the blade will fold back up onto your fingers. It looks great but the one I received was totally unsafe and I returned it. I expected so much more from Case. Guess I should stick to their slip joint offerings. ... show more

Love the style and weight of the knife but I needed to apply oil and loosen the torx screw just a bit It would not lock into place right out of the box. It's going to take some use before deploying smoothly.

Being of an age where I have warm nostalgic feelings about Case knives, I had high hopes for this knife. It's just the right size and weight, and I love the looks and ergonomics of it. The lack of assist and imprecision for opening was a deal breaker for me. More than half the time opening it, the blade did not lock into place without a second hand or flip. The "deep pocket' clip was a no for me also since it rides higher out of my pocket than I am comfortable with. Its' hard to describe, but the handle also has a hollow feel to me - not a solid, sturdy feel like you get with high-end knives. ... show more
