The Case Large Yellow CV Stockman is is a part of the Yellow CV Family. These work-ready, yellow synthetic knives are built for use all day long. Many prefer carbon steel for its edge holding ability. This durable folding knife features a yellow synthetic handle with three full length blades, the clip blade, the sheepfoot blade and the spey blade. The bright yellow handle color will keep this Case Large Stockman easily within your sight. The Clip and Sheepfoot blade sit on the pocket end while the spey blade sits on the cap end. The Clip blade is commonly used as a multi-purpose blade and preferred for detail work. The Sheepfoot blade allows for added strength at the point making it great for carving and achieving a clean cut. The Spey blade is commonly used as an all-purpose utility blade. This knife is constructed with our chrome vanadium (CV) steel. Some knife lovers will settle for nothing less than chrome vanadium blades, since this special formula of alloyed steel is the “original” Case blade steel. Case chrome vanadium blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish. This ensures that your knife will be around for future generations to enjoy. Quite large, but a first rate knife.

Recently dropped my Shrade "Pioneer" Stockman that I had carried for nearly 40 years, and snapped one of the springs when it hit the corner of a concrete block. Hence, I was forced to start a search for a replacement and figured that Case was of unquestionable quality - and it is! The dilemma was deciding what size to order. My old knife was somewhere in between a medium and a large according to current measurements on most brands I studied. I opted for the large size thinking it would only be a little larger. Wow! This is a large knife. The blades are only a little longer, but the blade height is substantially more than my old knife. In retrospect, I probably should have ordered a medium size, but I have gotten used to knife already and it's not a big deal. I may order a medium sometime in the near future - doesn't hurt to have a spare. None of this has anything to do with the quality of this Case Stockman - which is first rate! The blades came from the factory with as sharp an edge as I've ever felt and the finish is virtually mirror-like. The blades snap into place tightly without any sideways movement at all. This knife should last more than a lifetime with a little common sense and reasonable care. So definitely a full five star knife - just make sure you want a pocket knife with this much heft! ... show more

I bought 2 of these knives as gifts and they are wonderful. I will be buying another case knife when I get tired of my current case knife which will last for a long time. This knife is large but not to big for it to be an everyday pocket knife especially if you like using the leather belt holsters that are becoming so popular. The blades on this knife will hold an edge for a long time bot the longest in the world but fantastic for such a durable knife. These are case knifes so they do come with a warranty. Plus they will have everyone talking when they see you pull out this shiney stainless and classis looking case knife. ... show more

Very nice heavy duty knife.

This is the large stockman and the fit and finish is excellent! I haven’t used this one yet but I don’t perceive myself having any issues with it. There is a little blade rub but very minor. I think it’s a very nice knife and I love the yellow synthetic covers!

Love it. Pay attention to the sizes when you order. The one I ordered is the bigger one and it’s what I wanted (most prefer smaller model). I prefer the jigged bone handle but they cost a lot more and I wanted a pocket knife I wouldn’t freak out about if it was lost or broken, but still wanted a case. So this less expensive yellow handle model fit the bill for me. Same quality and decent blades so I’m very happy with it ... show more

A fine Case traditional pocket knife

The yellow delrin knives are the bargains in the Case line. I guess people who like traditional knives want natural materials like wood, bone or stag in their handles. But I remember yellow plastic knife handles from my childhood and I'm pretty old. Yellow handled knives have been around a really long time--long enough to qualify as "traditional". So, here we have a Large (or Jumbo, depending on the terminology) Stockman, made by W.R. Case in chrome vanadium non-stainless steel with a traditional yellow delrin handle. And it's just about perfect for a nice looking working knife that doesn't cost a fortune. The only negative thing I've found in my particular sample is a little gapping on one of the liners. There's also a little rubbing of the spey and sheepsfoot blades but that's present in all my Stockman pattern knives no matter who makes them. Otherwise, the knife is easy to open but the blades are tight when open. There's no wobble or side to side movement in the open position with any of the blades. Except for the gap, the fit and finish is excellent. The CV blades sharpen quickly and only need a touch up to remain sharp. I like Case's carbon steel much better than their stainless steel. Sizewise, I really like the biggest Stockman pattern. The grip surface on these 4.25" knives is easy to manipulate and hold onto. If you have large hands, anything below 4" can sometimes become hard to hold onto and that translates into the need for an Bandaid. I speak from experience. I've been using this knife for several weeks. The blades have taken on a nice patina and have only needed an occasional swiping on ceramic sticks to keep them cutting. I don't do heavy cutting with slipjoint knives but this Stockman could handle a fair amount of work without a problem. I own several Stockman pattern knives with some costing several times the price of this Case. However, this Case performs as well as any of them and looks nice and traditional as well. ... show more
