  • Great for busking or play during travel or where space is a premium for performance/recording.
Excellent for OTG production and getting ideas into the computer quickly, wherever you are! The keys feel a little strange at first but you get used to them quickly. Everything works as it should and the controls and modification capapbilty of the curves is really helpful. BT-MIDI is hit or miss but I blame the devices I'm connecting to, it's still a standard very much in the making IMO. The MIDI ports are rock solid. ... show more

  • Good design, flimsy keys
This is a really slick design with lots of versatility and connectability and portability. You can do a lot with it. But the feel of the keys is pretty underwhelming. Perhaps the compact design necessitated this somehow, but it's definitely the weakest point of this controller. Great piece of gear otherwise. Depending on your needs, it may not be that important to you. ... show more

  • Impressed on all the functions, does feel a little "light"
This had more functions than I was expecting, the materials are a bit light, but as long as its taken care of you shouldn't have a problem. I LOVE that I can use this on a computer, phone or just on the couch. Cant wait to orchestrate an 80's game soundtrack to see its full potential!

  • Brilliant idea, terrible keybed. So unfortunate because this is such an awesome idea.
I really wanted to love this, and honestly hate writing a review with any negativity, especially as a developer of synth controllers who knows the work that goes into designing something like this. But the fact of the matter is, the manufacturer created this for serious musicians, and the keyboard could have been better designed by Fisher Price. Yes, the keyboard is that bad, friends. It doesn't make any sense to me, because everything else, except the keys are amazing. Okay, so lets go through this. This is marketed to musicians who are experienced musicians in the modular and semi-modular, Eurorack world. The outputs tell us that. Someone who invests thousands into Eurorack gear who wants to save space or gig, this would be perfect for. It looks really cool, right? But why the cheap, toy-like keys? Even if you were to charge another $50, it would be well worth it! Even the boxes this came in are are beautiful, and top quality. Yes, the knobs could be a little better, but not a big deal. I understand they need to be shallow for this design to work. Everything else is quite amazing, including the LCD display. (Think calculator display). It's not color or fancy, but really no biggie. That's fine even. But the keyboard ruins it for me and I'm sure others. I'm embarrassed for the company that developed this for that reason. Yes, the keyboard is really that bad. I'm sorry, but three stars is for the rest of the design, it should be five stars if only a better keyboard had been thought out. I included some pics so you can see how much potential this has, and compare with the size of the Keystep. I'm sorry for the mediocre review, if only the company had done better with the keyboard, this would have easily been a five star review, because I really love the concept. ... show more

  • A nice compact versatile wireless keyboard, keys could be improved.
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice compact versatile wireless keyboard for writing music on the go, but the keys can use improvement. The keyboard is light and the materials are plastic and feel a bit fragile. That being said, for portability this can't be beat. Its biggest strength is its bluetooth capability, which allows you to connect to Garageband or other DAW software on an iPad or other tablet using only bluetooth. I can see writing music on an airplane or tour bus with this. Functionally, there are tons of options, including eight drum pads, tempo and pitch control, an arpeggiator, pitch and modulation sliders, tempo tapping, CC controls, DAW play, stop and record controls, an input for a sustain pedal and more. Many of the controls can be mapped the way you'd like them. All of these work well. If you want to connect with a wire, a USB-c to USB-A connector does the trick. You can also use various provided 3.5 mm outputs for pitch, gate, modulation, and MIDI. The keyboard is charged via USB and gives you many hours on each charge. Also included are light versions of Cubase and Cubasis DAW software. The one drawback to this device is the keys themselves. They are velocity sensitive, but feel light and toylike. It would be a big improvement if they made the keys feel more like a piano, especially at this price point. That being said, this is a good option for making music on the go. ... show more
