This is the first cloth hamper that I have purchased, in the past I always used the plastic hampers, which always sooner or later broke. So far, I am happy with this hamper. There are only my wife and I that live here but I went ahead and ordered the larger hamper just to be safe. I am glad that I did because it holds approx. 1 week of dirty clothes inside.     • Good price & color, but does not stay upright when empty.

Description of product says "Stands Up Well". Nope, it does not. When empty, it tends to cave in, and partially collapse. This means you can't just toss in some clothes. You have to go over, use 2 hands, and open it first before you can deposit that sock or shirt. For me, a laundry hamper needs to be quick to use and make clean-up easier, especially if I have my hands full of clothes, etc. The fabric is a thin synthetic canvas, and may rip if overloaded or dragged. The fabric should be thicker, and it needs some sort of internal support. It's not like the sturdy polyester or nylon that you find in backpacks. I would much prefer strong cotton canvas, and would happily pay more. I don't need it to be water resistant. Similar issue with handles, that other reviewers have had break or tear loose. On the plus side, it is lightweight, holds a lot, and comes in nice colors. I would not buy it again, though. So -- still searching for a functional tall hamper that isn't plastic or $100. ... show more
