The sponges seem to be of nice quality dirt and hold water very well. Sometimes the dirt is packed to tight for the roots to grow into them, but these seem to work well. I bought these as more supplies to go with an intelligent planter by ahopegarden I already had, and they drop right in and fit perfectly. They might as well have come with the kit originally. There's 50 of each: sponges, baskets, and labels, it would've been nice if the kit came with some of the clear domes for germination. There's plenty of room for whatever seed you have in the top of the sponges. The baskets are three inches tall and about an inch and a half wide, the dirt sponges are sized to drop right into the baskets. If you're looking for replacements for your all-in-one hydroponic kit these are perfect, I would recommend without hesitation.

the sponges and plastic holders are just as described/expected thoug I'm not really sure I'll ever need anywhere near as many plastic holders as I will sponges and wish the ratio were different. The green labels still have me scratching my head a bit. Not sure exactly what purpose they're intended to serve. Still, a really good choice for getting the extra replacement pieces I need to continue my newfound hydroponic growing habit.

These are an easy and more economical way to keep growing herbs and plants if you have an areogarden. The write up on their site is a little confusing. You get 50 sponges and baskets, not 150. If you order 30 it says 90 but you will get 30; I think they are counting all the items you will receive. Also, it is kind of self explanatory but the directions are online, not included with the product. I am still waiting for plants to grow but so far I think this is a good product.

This kit fits all of the mini hydroponics systems our family has been using, allowing us to replace the used components, and start new plants in fresh pods. The grow sponges work very well, ad I've been having lettuce plants start from seeds in two or three days. The little discs work great for blocking light so algae doesn't grow on the tops of the grow sponges. If you have a small hydroponics system, these are a great item to buy o get more use out of it. They also work really well for converting disposable jars and buckets into DIY hydroponic setups. Something like an empty peanut butter jar with a hole drilled in the lid to accommodate the basket is really all you need, along with a sunny spot or a grow light. These really open up the options for growing pants indoors, or even outside.

I have a cheap hydroponics system from a different brand but that brand seems to not offer baskets/sponges separately (so I could have more than minimal extras) and I had the opportunity to try out this refill basket/sponge product anyway. While the design of these refill pieces are a little different from what came with my kit, they still fit the basket holes pretty well. It's true that these baskets and sponges (and stickers) don't come with instructions, but if you have a hydroponics kit that these are compatible with, you should already know what to do or at least have the instructions that came with the hydroponics kit. The only thing different from my expectations is that the labels are paper stickers, I thought they were going to be just thin plastic. Fortunately it's not a big deal, watering is done at the bottom of the baskets and the sponges don't go high enough to transfer water to the stickers.

This set matched up easily with my 'smaller' hydroponics system. The plugs are less like dirt and more just a sponge than what came with the system. They absorbed water easily, and the indents are easily large enough to take a pea or bean. They don't reach as far as the systems original plugs do, so I'll have to keep the water level higher. These plugs are the best replacement ones I've found so far. The baskets fit into both of my existing systems, although they fit better on the one that had round baskets than the one with square. I appreciated the stickers to keep moss off especially! I replanted my system with half plugs from this refill and half original plugs, so I'll update once I see how strong the seedlings are.

These seed pod kits have everything that you need to start seedlings in your hydroponic garden besides the seeds. I had really good luck sprouting herbs using these and thinned them out if more than one or two sprouted. Perfect instead of buying seed pods direct from aerogarden, which I found have had only about a 75% sprout rate. These worked great for me.

I have three different brands of hydroponic gardens and getting this 150-Pack Grow Sponges and Baskets with Labels will get me through 2 more growing seasons. The 150-pack comes with 50 grow sponges, 50 plastic baskets, and 50 labels. I find that the labels actually help hold the baby sprouts upright as they are beginning to grow. It’s also nice to get replacement baskets because plant roots tightly envelop each basket as the plants grow, and I consider them to be expendables. This is a nice replacement pack for my hydroponic gardens. The only thing that would make it nicer was be if it included hydroponic fertilizer.
