I was very afraid that a size 6 was going to be too big for my foot since I’m usually a size 5 or 5.5 in heels and sneakers. It’s hard to tell where your toe is with the steel toe so I took out the sole and put my foot on it to see how it was fitting. I saw that if the shoe was smaller, 3 of my toes would’ve been crushed by the boot. I’ve been slowly breaking them in for about a week with thick socks. I noticed the left foot (my smaller foot) feels like a blister wants to develop but no blister has developed. They’re not as heavy as I expected. I’m able to run in the boots comfortably. I don’t know if I have low or high arches, usually arch area is an issue with my shoes, but the arch support these boots have had felt wonderful. I’m keeping them, don’t really see a reason to try other boots at this moment. ... show more

I never use the feature but decided to do the prime Try-before-you-buy because I didn't want to be stuck with a work boot that didn't meet my needs. I work in a warehouse loading package trucks overnight. I needed something lightweight, waterproof, with toe protection, and high enough to support my (weak) ankles. The day I got them I wore them to work for a 5 hour all on my feet shift; Only mild aching of my toes and heels. Day Two, I felt more pinching in my ankles but never anything I would consider unbearable. At the end of day Three I realized that I didn't feel a thing uncomfortable that day and forgot I was wearing the boots. They don't slow me down and they aren't heavy. I'm 5'10" and they give me extra inches which I love. True to size as the 10 gives me enough toe wiggle room to wear thick socks, 100% wool even, as I work in 30-40° temps daily. I get so many compliments on them, and the men I work with are so impressed that these boots do everything their big, clunky, less sexy boots do. ... show more

Update April 11, 2026 i wear these only in the winter months now. My feet dont swell up. I really wanted to love these. But the wide boots are still very narrow. And I dont have wide feet at all. I still try to wear them because I paid for them. Im very disappointed with this work boot. They are durable, maybe because I cant wear them every day I work. I love the style and weight. But the over all comfort, their is none. One thing I do like about them is the arch. The arch is perfect for my high arches.. Do I recommend, only if you have a very narrow foot, then get the wide.. ... show more

Immediately after I received these I unboxed and slipped them on. I was sure they’d be too big or tight on my foot just based on the outside cut but they fit like a glove. I ordered my normal shoe size (6). When I say glove I mean they hug your foot perfectly in all the right spots and especially the footbed/arch which is the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced in ANY shoe including running sneakers or clogs (that have a very supportive arch). I don’t even want to take them off—that’s how great these are and I’m sure they will get softer and better with time. I’ve been wearing these in 9 degree weather and they keep my feet warm. Still in the process of finding the best size for me but I HIGHLY suggest ordering the WIDE version even if you have narrow feet. They are VERY slim fitting. I would also size up at least 1/2 a size right from the start. I normally wear men’s boots & need to size down. They feel well made and are on the heavy/rugged side (steel toe). The color in photo appears as a light brown/khaki color but they’re a standard darker brown (non-issue for me but might be a preference for others.) The size issue is the only reason for 3 stars at this time, will update review after some time in the boots. Advertised as waterproof and slip resistant, great style. ... show more

First off, I want to thank the person in PA who returned these boots and Amazon for giving me a deal I couldn't refuse! A dream come true for this young residential contractor in training! Second I want to say these are some heavy duty and wonderfully built boots Carhartt! They are a bit stiff and weigh about 2.2lbs a piece. That being said, I think these boots will last way longer than all my others and I will update you all in six months when they are more broken in. Highly recommend! Great quality! If you typically wear a size 6 order size 6.5W. I ordered just a size 6 and am returning. My toes were very cramped and and the width was very tight. Other than that the boots look great and are of great quality.
