Great coat which is usually expected from carhartt. I loved the weight compared to my older traditional styled carhartt coat with the same amount of protection from the cold weather. The value was great for the price. I have paid significantly more money for other styles in this brand. We just recently had our first snow storm in Oklahoma and the coat was super warm, versatile and looks great if you’re going to work or just outside. The zipper worked great. I’m happy with my purchase. I hope that they come out with a gray color. I bought the light green and it’s not super green so looks okay with any outfit color. ... show more

I’ve owned two of these, and wouldn’t hesitate to get a third. First one got destroyed in a house fire, otherwise I never would have purchased the second. True to size, rugged fabric, hasn’t torn on fencing yet. Very warm, we have a streak of single digit temps this week in Ohio and I can wear this with just a long sleeve shirt on under for doing barn chores. The lamb skin lining is very soft and warm, the lined hood is stiff enough to not get in the way of my line of sight on the tractor, and it has tons of usable pockets. My sharp and pointy pruning shears haven’t killed any of the pockets yet. The cuffs inside the sleeves are nice. I haven’t found a downside yet except that occasionally when reaching over my head, I get a slight breeze at the waist. That’s my fault, should have tucked in my shirt or bought a longer coat. I’m 5’4”, chest 34B, average shoulders and hips,150lbs. The medium fits nicely with plenty of room for a turtleneck and fleece zip up under. I usually wear snow pants over the jacket to keep from staining up the front of the jacket with potting soil, so I haven’t tried to put snow pants under it, they would probably be snug, but I carry a little more of my weight on my hips, so that’s a me problem. I can wear thick lined jeans with long John’s under and the coat fits over the hips no problem. Fwiw, I run a perennial nursery, so my jackets are part of my work wear and they really take some abuse as I’m working outside year round carrying and potting plants, and caring for the farm animals. It’s very muddy, rugged work. Overall, in 15 years of doing this, I’ve quit buying anything but Carharrt when I need it to last, I was just destroying the farm store brands within one season. I justify the cost by getting cheap t shirts and cut off sweats for summer work wear from the thrift shop….or at least that’s the excuse my husband accepts. 😉 ... show more

I love this winter coat! It was perfect for 50 degree F weather, as well as 30s. It's so comfortable and has plenty pockets. It is water repellent. I'm 5'6", 150 lbs and the size small is perfect.

I have been wanting this jacket since last winter. However I wouldn't purchase it because it is so expensive, but my husband bought it for me. Everytime I wear it I get compliments! Carhartt usually runs big so I get a small in everything but I got a medium in this and I am glad I did. For reference I am 5'6 155 pounds and wear an 8 in jeans. It is super warm. My only complaint is the stiffness but I did expect that. Hopefully in time it will soften up some. This jacket is made to last and I will have it for many winters to come. I wore it during an outdoor event in a snow storm at 9° and was not cold at all. Like other reviews say the hood is kind of annoying and I wish it were detachable but it's whatever. It was sooo warm and cozy in this jacket. well designed and good fabrics. and high durable. it don't have a fully waterproof but can repels some water as the outer shell is nylon.
