I’m 5’8” avg 140 lbs and ordered a medium. It fits great and is SO warm. If stating it fits smaller or larger, I’d say on the smaller side especially if you’re layering underneath. It’s very heavy too but it’ll keep you warm in the coldest of cold.

Recently moved to Maryland from Florida and needed a warm jacket as we move to a farm. I was not at all familiar with the Carhartt brand. Little did I know that I became a true Marylander when wearing this jacket. I love the hood and the warmth as well as the fit. I am 5 feet tall and weigh 125 and this jacket, with a base layer, and a shirt gives me a nice warm hug when I put it on. After purchasing it and telling my mother-in-law about it, her response was, “oohhh you bought a Carhartt?“. It gets extremely windy here, and cold. I especially love the hood. This jacket is really nice really comfortable and really warm and the material is really heavy duty. You can’t go wrong with a jacket like this. I like it a lot. I got me the black one. Also this is a go for me. I love it.

    • Great jacket but needs better waistband options

I really love this jacket. It’s warm enough to wear for shoveling snow, walking the dog or running errands in cold ny weather. my only complaint is the waist does not have any pulley strings or interior waist band. Cold winter wind will ride right up as if you don’t have a jacket on. Tucking in a shirt or sweater will help, but I shouldn’t need to do that. The jacket would be great otherwise. And yes Carhart has jackets with ribbed waist band, but I wasn’t going for that look. I like this look, but it really need to have the waist pull strings or inside ribbed waistband, similar to the inside wrist bands for this to be an even better jacket. ... show more
