I am a short waist size 10. The Large is way too big and the Medium is to snug in the hips. I went with the Large after googling to see if they would shrink but they didn't shrink enough. Now I am stuck with a sloppy pair of high priced shorts.

When I ordered these, they were listed as “women’s”. When I look at my return, it shows me “men’s” shorts. I got a size small 4 to 6. They must be men’s sizes because they are more like an 8 to 10.
