This backpack is a little expensive but well worth the money. It is very well-made, very durable, and large so it fits very well on an adult. It is durable enough to use for hiking/camping but features plenty of pockets for books and classroom supplies. It also features a padded pocket for a laptop to be carried in the pocket closest to the wearer. My 15" laptop fits very well in the laptop compartment with a little room to spare. This backpack also features a reinforced bottom to prevent damage from an occasional drag against the floor or from sharper objects tearing a hole in the bottom. In years past I was sold on the Carhartt name alone in terms of durability, but as with all good things (and cost reduction measures) I am no longer blindly sold on their name alone. Purchased this as a replacement for computer/travel/carry all bag. I was looking for something durable with a lot of storage compartments. This fits the bill in all areas! I'm certain some laptops could be too big, or at least on the top end of size but works for ours. There are 3 different large compartments so papers and such can be divided up easily. 4 other, smaller, external compartments for cords, pens and pencils, etc. as well as a dedicated pocket on top for glasses that hides away neatly. regarding quality was worried as I'd seen some reviews with bad stitching, or tears in fabric, etc. so far (nearly 6months in) I haven't seen any quality issues show up yet and have packed it substantially for an international trip as my carry on for 2 weeks. The quality of this backpack is excellent. I don't use it like I would if I were in school, but for holding laptop and some notebooks for daily life it is excellent. The materials are very durable and it is of high quality. Would recommend to anyone to purchase.

I bought this backpack to replace my old leather briefcase. I was looking for something that could be used for more than just work, and that gave me good organization and capacity. This definitely fit the bill. I feel that it is well made. I have used it for the past year ant it has held up well to daily use. There is a little bit of fraying to the material on the inside of one of the pockets (at the end of the unfinished fabric), but this does not affect how well the bag functions. Very quality backpack. The zippers are tough and this canvas material is strong and thick. The bag has many pockets with internal sleeves and can be filled with a lot of items. I use it daily for work and it hasn’t failed me yet.
