  • Another great jacket from Carhartt
Size: Medium Color: Black
Top quality jacket as expected from Carhartt. Seems very warm although it hasn't been too cold yet, only in the 40's where I'm at. We'll see come winter I guess. I have the Bartlett jacket and the Detroit jacket as well and it's definitely warmer than either of those. I am impressed with the design and fit of this jacket, it's not bulky as some others have said and it weighs almost nothing. It's also quite comfortable with plenty of range of motion. It's a lot like a snowmobile or ski jacket and you could wear it for that if so inclined. Would also be a great jacket for mountain guides or winter hiking, it certainly seems durable enough. I'm 6'1" 180 pounds, slim build with long arms and the medium size fits perfectly. I normally wear large in most jackets but Carhartt stuff is always oversized especially being labeled as "loose fit" so you might want to go down one size unless you're planning on wearing a bunch of mid layers. If you're on the fence about this jacket don't hesitate to buy it, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • Warm and dry!
Size: Large Color: Black
I purchased this coat for my 16yo step son that is starting out in the construction field. We've had some cold days this year in NY and this jacket keeps him warm. He says that when working he is cozy and doesn't sweat too much. He likes that its waterproof and long enough to where when he bends down the back of the jacket doesn't ride up. A little pricey but worth it knowing he's in the elements and dry. Would recommend to anyone. Currently looking at purchasing one for myself as well. Zipper, quality, very functional. ... show more

  • Warmest Jacket EVER!!!
Size: 3X-Large Tall Color: Black
I'd honestly give this jacket 10 stars if I could! I work on a freight dock with the only covering being the roof so when it's hot it's HOT and when its cold it's COLD especially here in PA! I switched to 3pm-11pm shift so I needed more warmth and this jacket is by far the warmest jacket I've ever worn! It blocks the wind even while driving down the dock on an open forklift 10-11mph. It fits me true to size and all i wear underneath is a long sleeve Carhartt t-shirt and sweatshirt! I pair this with the level 3 insulated Carhartt bibs and its the perfect set! You wont go wrong with this one, DON'T LET THE PRICE SCARE YA, ITS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! ... show more

  • Worth it. BEST Carhartt!
Size: XX-Large Color: Black
I work and play outside in Michigan winters, so I know my cold‑weather gear. I’ve worn Carhartt, Lee’s, and Walls over the years, but since I actually work in my jackets, I settled on Carhartt long ago because they simply last longer. I’ve owned both the Active Jacket and the Arctic Jacket. The Arctic held up well and stayed warm, but in high winds or truly frigid temps (-5° to -10° or below), I could still feel the chill—and it was heavy after wearing it all day. I eventually broke the zipper and planned to buy another one, but then I started looking into the Yukon Extreme. When I saw it was nylon instead of duck canvas, I was skeptical. For $200, I honestly thought there was no way it would be as rugged. Even when it arrived, I picked it up and thought, “There’s no way this will hold up or be warmer than a regular Carhartt. $200 for this?” I almost returned it without even trying it. I’m glad I didn’t. I was 100% wrong. This jacket is super light compared to the duck canvas models, and it’s actually warmer. Shoveling snow in the low 30s, I got warm enough to wonder if it might even be too warm for typical winter days (10°–30°). I figured at least I’d be comfortable on the really cold days, but by adjusting my base layers, I’ve been perfectly fine. That said, this jacket is not for you if you already stay warm in a regular Carhartt or if you throw on a coat the moment you feel a little chill. This thing is built for real cold. The more I wear it, the more I like it. It also sheds rain better than my old jackets, though I’ve only had limited chances to test that since it’s winter and we’ve only had a bit of rain and sleet. Overall, the Yukon Extreme has become my new favorite, and it’s going to be hard to beat. Price is a little steep but worth it. ... show more

  • Durable, lightweight, and mobile (although a bit noisy)
Size: Large Color: Black
I am 5' 11" and 200 lbs and went with the large after trying on a medium at a local store. The medium felt like it could work but I wanted a slightly more relaxed fit to accommodate layers. I am glad I went with the large. I have a full range of motion without anything pulling or being taut. Both the inner sleeve elastic and the outer sleeve fit me perfectly, although due to the nature of the sleeves you have to mess with it to see your watch and get it back in place. It is both lighter and thinner than I would have imagined given how warm and wind-resistant it is which is nice. It does have a nylon shell which, while probably very durable and abrasion resistant, is not the quietest material out there. If you're actually out working with it on, the sound falls off your radar fast but if you're standing outside in silence, you may be surprised by how loud it seems as you move your arms around, especially with the hood up. There are plenty of winter jackets around the $200 price point, but if you're looking for durability, light weight, and range of motion, this one is tough to beat from my viewpoint. ... show more

  • Great for colder windy days
Size: Large Color: Black
It's a very nice jacket especially on windy days. The jacket is pretty loud and squishy when moving around. I'm 5'10 at 195 pounds and a large fits perfectly. If you wanna put a hoodie under it I'd buy a XL. I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 due to its warmth rating. It's Carhartt highest warth rated jacket a 4, yet my Carhartt Sherpa lined utility dush wash jacket is just as warm and that's only rated a 2.. I was just expecting it to be super super warm. It should really be rated a 3 and not a 4. But it's a great wind blocker and very sharp looking jacket. If you're planning on being out in the cold for extended amount of time I'd probably buy a XL and put a hoodie under it ... show more
