It's an actual life saver, but the handles are a little loose. My nephew installed it for me and said he couldn't get the handles any tighter. Maybe it's his fault or just how it's made, but it's excellent when someone (me) has mobility issues. 😊

I think the folks that have given poor reviews didn’t install correctly. I initially put the screw and nut together not following the instructions and the rails were very loose/wobbly which could have caused a major problem. Once I re-checked the instructions, I realized where I went wrong and now it’s perfect!

I’m a senior citizen & had a bad injury to my knee so getting up from the toilet was both challenging and & painful. I read the reviews of various toilet handles & purchased the CAREX as it’s made of STEEL & was advertised as “easy to install “. I watched the CAREX VIDEO, laid out all the parts on my bed & followed the video & printed directions. The only tool needed is a screwdriver to fasten the handle plate to the toilet seat. Make sure the arms that go under the toilet seat are facing towards the back. Initially I transposed the arms. Once I adjusted the armrests & tightened the toilet screws,everything was ready to go! This has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE & now getting up or sitting down has taken the pressure off my knees. I’m so HAPPY I purchased & easily installed this product!👍👍👍

I have 2 bathrooms and had 2 handicapped seats. I don't mind the handicapped seat in the master bathroom, but I wanted something more discreet for the second bathroom. This fits the bill perfectly - low profile and provides needed support if I have to use that bathroom. It was simple to assemble with clear instructions, and the whole thing took under 15 minutes. For under $30 (on sale), this is a great deal.

I fell an injured my hip which required surgery. My first surgery was in 2018 and I bot a portable toilet which was expensive, uncomfortable to sit on and a pain to empty after. I had my son carry it to the bathroom (it had a cover) then I emptied it! Unfortunately, I needed a second surgery this past April and decided to try this model instead and it works well for me. I like that the size is adjustable because I have a very small bathroom and I wasn't sure it would fit, but at the most narrow length it's fits perfect. When I say my bathroom is small it is so TINY that I can't imagine any bathroom where this wouldn't for. In the front the arms can be moved out of the way. This is good for cleaning the toilet and for the most part it is secure, but has slipped of the porcelain causing the arm fall down twice when I put weight one it. I'm strong enough that I didn't fall but if it was an elderly and/or frail person this might be dangerous. There wasn't any damage done to railing, and I always check that the arm is sitting securely on the toilet rim before I sit. The back part attaches to the back of the seat and has been securely attached with no sign of coming loose since it was installed two months ago. The arm rails are nicely padded which makes it more comfortable to push up on; especially in the beginning when I used mostly upper body strength to stand.
