The magnetic cleaner has been working great. The magnet is strong enough for use on my 3/8” acrylic tank. I was able to clean the tank relatively quickly after three weeks of algae growth on the front. There is a bit of slipping when moving the cleaner but the suction of the felt was able to grab onto the inside of the tank without it floating away. The magnet is strong enough to barely hold together on 6mm glass. Running into any algae buildup can knock it loose so you have to be careful. And it takes many, many passes to clean. You get what you pay for?

It does a good job at removing algae from the aquarium glass but the magnet is not very strong. It keeps disconnecting, falling off, and floating to the top of the aquarium . That is one nice thing about it. I don't have to retrieve it from the bottom of the tank like others I have had.

I bought this for my aquariums. It did nothing to fight off the green algae on my tank. It gets some of the lighter algae off, but not without sitting there for 5 minutes straight using it. It frequently spins off even when there are no objects to bump into. My tank walls aren't even that dirty- but it's way too much for this thing to handle. Instead of scraping the algae off it just passes over it. Not worth the investment- get something else instead. ... show more
