  • Worked Great, started first pull after install
My old Carburetor was not working well and leaking. Rather than spend $160 on a new Briggs and Stratton carburetor, I took a chance on this replacement. Went together without issues, I needed to buy new mounting screws as the unit was all metric. M6-1.0x20mm Cap screws did the job. The new carb installed without issue and started first pull, had to adjust the high-speed screw as it was set to rich. Set the idle mixture for low speed and all is well. My Giant Vac leaf blower runs like new. I would buy this again. Quality is not OEM quality but great value for the price. Happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Runs great but a couple of things....
First, as others have said, you need to get M6-1.0x20mm mounting screws since the carb is metric. The second is you need to adjust the main jet (the screw sticking out the bottom). Screw it in and then back out around 2 turns. Don't even think about trying to start it until you adjust the screw. I tried it and wore myself out, plus I noticed gas leaking out the bottom because it was waaayyyy to rich. After the jet adjustment, it started up first pull. You'll need to fine tune it from there. Runs like a top now. ... show more

  • A very nice little carb, but with a few catches.
It's hard to beat this carburetor for the money, but there are a couple of things you need to know. First, every nut, screw and thread on this carburetor is metric, which is understandable since it's made overseas, but why couldn't they have at least made the threads for the bolts that mount the carburetor to the intake manifold flange SAE, since it's advertised as a Briggs and Stratton replacement? The original Briggs and Stratton carburetor is threaded for 1/4-20, so be prepared to run down to the hardware store to pick up a couple of 6mm bolts. Second, note that on the bottom of the carburetor, cast into the intake, there's an internally threaded boss. This boss — I have no idea why they did this — is longer than on the original Briggs and Stratton. For some applications this might cause no problems, but on my 8hp Briggs and Stratton horizontal shaft motor (on a Tomahawk chipper/shredder with a fixed throttle) the throttle linkage bracket bolts onto this boss, and the longer boss changes the position of this bracket, resulting in a much higher RPM than recommended. If you have this sort of motor, be careful, and be prepared to adjust the throttle linkage to compensate. My motor's RPM soared to 4900, which would have destroyed the motor in short order if I hadn't corrected it. A cheap digital tachometer (NEIKO 20713A, from Amazon) is very handy. I give it a rating of 3 for ease of installation, because of the metric threads, and a 4 overall because of the throttle bracket issue, but really, if you're comfortable with these minor problems, this is an excellent product. Once I got the throttle linkage readjusted, my 8hp Briggs and Stratton ran like new. ... show more

  • Save money over OEM or a Rebuild Kit...Inexpensive and Works!
I almost gave this 4 stars since the mounting holes were metric. I didn't because I re-read the listing and it did state that the mounting holes were 6mm...i missed it. If you are a true DIYer that shouldn't stop you. You have 2 options, buy new hardware, or re-tap the holes to match the OEM. I chose to re-tap since it took a few minutes to tap 3 holes(top 2 mounting and 1 bottom mount.) This way I was able to reuse the OEM hardware in case I feel like cleaning the original carb one day for a backup. I was up in running within 30 minutes after it was delivered. ... show more

  • Fit and adjusts perfectly
Excellent carb.

  • Not even worth 20 bucks, don’t do it!
The fuel float was improperly set from the factory, ended up leaking fuel everywhere and ran horrible. Had to disassemble and fix the issue. Also the adjustment screws are absolutely horrible, main jet and idle both came slightly bent and had to mess around with those too. Huge waste of time.

  • Carburetor
Left old gas in my logsplitter and this fixed the problem. Runs well

  • Worked Great for TroyBilt Horse 7HP B&S
Quick adjustment and running perfectly. Obviously be aware mounting threads are M6 so you'll need to tap them or use new screws.
