  • Great bumper plates at an excellent price.
Style: Economy Size: 45lbs - Single
One of the alleged trade-offs of less expensive bumper plate weights is that they’re not verified to be within a specific weight tolerance, such as within 2% of the labeled weight. Well, these seem to be pretty solid. Although I used my home scales to weigh them, and my home skills could be off by a 1% or 2%, I weighed each bumper plate and each bumper plate weighed the same up to 1/10th of a pound, which is as small a value as my digital scales can go. In other words, thirty both weighed the same. So although I cannot say whether or not they weigh exactly 45 lbs each, I can say that both of my plates weighed the same. To me I’d much rather have 2 plates 45 lbs plates that weight the same but might actually be 44 for one and 45 lbs for another. This way the weight on the bar is balanced. And at about $1/lbs, this is a great value in my view. I’m not competing, so I don’t care if they’re both a few ounces light or heavy. But for all I know, they’re dead-on. Some people complain about the smell or oil on them. This is common with this type of rubber material; I’ve had it on dumbbells as well. One of my 45 pound plates had a little more residue on it but the other was pretty much dry, but neither one had any significant amount. I didn’t even think it was enough to worry about wiping off. Any robbery scent in the air after opening them will fade pretty quickly. The weights easily fit onto my Olympic 2” barbell(s) and don’t slide around excessively. I can definitely recommend these for personal use. I think I’m going to order some 25s and 10s next, after that I’ve seen the 45s quality. Time will tell about how well they hold up with the ring inside of them, but if there’s any issues with that, I’ll update accordingly. ... show more

  • Budget friendly, decent quality
Style: Economy Size: 45lbs - Single
The plates come packaged exceptionally well. The plates are in plastic bags and protected with 8 foam pieces to prevent the plates from shifting in the box. The economical weight plates are a solid option for lifters on a budget. They are bulkier and take up more space on the bar compared to pro or elite-style plates, but they function well for general training. One drawback is that economical plates can have slight weight variances, sometimes ranging about 1–3% above or below the stated weight. For example, the 45 lb CAP rubber bumper plates we received measured approximately 46 lbs. While they are not precision-calibrated or competition-grade, they are durable enough for everyday use and provide good value at a lower price point. The elite or competition tiers, typically about $10 more per plate, are more compact and accurate to the stated 45 lb standard, but the main advantage is precision and size, not necessarily overall “better” performance for general training ... show more

  • Economy 15 lb bumper plates
Style: Economy Size: 15lbs - Pair
Ok, so everybody knows Cap for making very decent gym related products with very friendly pricing. picked up a set of 15’s. weighing them, they are spot on and are nice quality for home gym use. these get the job done, look good, but cannot be compared to commercial grade and you shouldnt expect them to. this kind of sounds bad but it isn’t, these plates really are great, i just dont think they would hold up to dozens of people using, dropping and abusing them all day every day in a commercial gym setting. they wont be used like that in a home gym. i almost took a star off for one reason. the plates come nicely packaged in a box with foam surrounding the vox corbers and each plate in a plastic bag. when i opened the box i was immediately hit with a strong rubber and oil smell and could see the plates were covered in an oily film through the bag. i wiped them down with paper towels and then a microfiber cloth with windex and they were still a little greasy feeling. this film will eventually evaporate out, but there is quite a noticeable smell in my garage gym. having had cap plates before this film and smell dissapates over the coming days, but i never saw so much of this oil on their plates before. just a bit of inconvenience but in the end the plates function as i would expect them. in the pic i submitted for this review i am using an adapter on the plate to fit my open trap which uses standard 1 inch plates. ... show more

  • Excellent product
Style: Economy Size: 35lbs - Single
I'm lifting light nowadays and these were a great addition to my Olympic steel weight set to only be used on deadlifts IYKYK. I liked them so much I purchased additional bumper plates for a full set when they went on sale. Good quality and durability for the price with only con being a slight rubber smell common with all but the pricier sets. One 10 pound plate was bent nearly in half when I dropped a loaded bar in the rack. The 10 pound plate simply sprung back into shape without a scratch. ... show more

  • Worth the money.
Style: Economy Size: 25lbs - Pair
Being used to steel plates, these are comically large. I honestly thought they made a mistake and sent me 35's when I opened the box. But no just giant, smelly 25 lb plates. Overall I'm very satisfied tho. They're high quality, sit nicely on my bar and seem well balanced. Will definitely be buying more. Although I'm a little worried that the 35's won't fit thru my front door 😂 ... show more

  • Great quality for the money!

Great value! Most bumper plates are crazy expensive, but the CAP plates are very reasonable in price and are very good quality!

  • Great buy, accurate and low price.
Style: Economy Size: 55lbs - Single
Great bumper plates, I bought the pair of (2) 55lb plates and loaded them both on my scale, and they are exactly 110lbs for both of them, I was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting a little bit of a discrepancy in weight due to the low price compared to other brands, but lo and behold the weight accuracy is spot on. The finish is smooth and soft, they did come a little oily and smelly of chemical, but I cleaned them with a kitchen napkin and let them air dry all night and that solved the problem. The hole size is 2", just right for my ritfit Olympic barbell, they are 3-5/16" thick. Great buy! ... show more

  • Best Weight Plates for the Money
Style: Economy Size: 45lbs - Single
For the money these are probably the best quality weight plates you can get that are a fraction of the price of traditional/metal weight plates. I got 2 45 lb. plates for less than what I would pay for 1 plate of the traditional style at the local sporting goods/fitness store. These come well packed in sturdy boxes, and are wrapped in plastic. There is a bit of shipping grease on them and they do have a little bit of a plastic smell to them. The smell will go away in a few months and just have some wipes on hand when they arrive so you can wipe/clean them off. They look great, have a good feel to them, and work with the 2.5 inch barbells. These were a huge addition to my home gym since I was moving up to heavier weights on squats and deadlifts and needed to buy more plates behind my first 300 lb. Olympic Set. Other plates were cost prohibitive and I was initially skeptical about these given how "cheap" they were/are, but they are high quality and good plates. These have also been great for deadlifts since they are a bit easier on my floor padding than the metal weights. The only drawback is that there isn't a good handle or spot to grip the plate when you take it off the rack, so with the heavier plates you'll have to use 2 hands to pick them up and rack them. Will certainly buy a few more of these when I need to expand my weight set. ... show more
