Better than expected. No smell and sturdy. Some rubber is shaved off one corner but weight is still accurate. There is some residual oil from manufacturing out of the box but a wipe down with a damp towel did the trick. At under $1/lb, I will definitely order again if I need more.

I ordered these dumbbells and they’ve been great for my home gym setup. They each weigh 60 pounds. And they are black with chrome handles. The build quality feels solid as the heads are durable, and the hex design keeps them from rolling which is a must. They are a nice size without being too big or bulky. The chrome handles have a good amount of knurling, giving a secure grip without being overly aggressive on your hands. They feel well balanced during lifts whether I’m doing presses, rows, or curls. The coating on the heads seems tough and has held up well so far without chipping. They also came well packaged which helped prevent any damage during shipping. Decent dumbbells, I have the 20's, 30's and 35's and all look decent, held up well, and they didn't have the rubber smell people complain about after you wipe them down once. The only thing I don't like about them is the knurling on the dumbbells can be a little more aggressive. It seems more muted on the heaver dumbbells where you can use the extra grip. I don't know if it's the CAP brand or just the dumbbells I received but I would like a more noticeable handle. ... show more
