I had some trepidation ordering a "Renewed" lens. But to save $209, I thought I'd try. The lens showed up just two days after purchase (during COVID-19, so many things were delayed). I opened the shipping box and inside was the original (mint condition) Canon box! Loving this so far, I opened that box. The lens was still in the original wrapping. No sign the box was ever opened. Thinking maybe this just a return from a miss order? Dunno. All the same, I unwrapped the lens. Mint, perfect, no sign of being touched. I put it on my camera, STELLAR! Love this lens. So fast and tack sharp. The firmware was 1.0.3, so updated to 1.0.6. Zero issues, plus that told me no one had updated before me. I'm telling you, maybe I just got lucky, but this is a brand new lens in the original packaging! And for more than $200 less! I highly recommend buying renewed. ... show more
