I had the first version stolen last year. Mark II and Mark III were the versions available. I do insurance inspections for commercial properties. Many of the photos are very low light. I had researched all the point and shoot cameras, that had at least a moderate zoom, and the G7X won overall. Price, function, low light ability, and zoom were spot on. I get 99% plus with my photos. I can't afford to have a bad photo as will likely require a second visit to the property. That can be costly. I'm sure Sony's high-end P&S cameras will be just as effective, but the price is much too high, especially if I can get the same or better with the lower price of the G7X II.     • I Bought This Camera For YouTube Specifically!
The first two cameras I purchased both had a defect where a "hot" pixel would appear on the final video after you hit record which left this floating white dot in the video (sometimes on my face) Customer support was ALWAYS super helpful each time and allowed me to exchange it for a refund. I ordered it twice to finally receive one that didn't have this problem. I'm glad I kept patient because I really like this camera. It just sucks that the batteries do NOT last very long. I highly recommend ordering the off brand extra ones which comes with another charger for only $30 or so... you need to purchase extra memory cards as well if you want to shoot lots of video. The camera will stop recording at 16 minutes once the file reaches a certain size. The longest video you can record at a time I believe is only 30 minutes (please don't quote me though) do your own research. You can always start a new file if you have enough space on your card, however it may ruin any shots since there will be a pause or delay until you hit record again. If you're looking to film YouTube videos, this is the camera to do it with. My only real issues is that once you set up your shot, when you hit record it will turn into widescreen mode and cut off a lot of the picture so your head may be out of frame until you step back or make adjustments. I would say just hit record first then find where you need to stand or sit and then edit that adjustment out later. Also, keep this camera way from dust and dirt as it will ruin the lens and it's super hard to clean, you may even need it professionally cleaned by somebody like Canon. I believe there is a separate lens cover that protects from dust getting inside that you might want to purchase. Have fun and go film the world! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great purchase if you are looking into taking your youtube serious! Comes with any and everything you will need to get that perfect video. It also has direct transfer over to a phone or any computer so thats a big plus! As far as size, to me its perfect. I am a Youtube beauty and lifestyle vlogger. I debated for months on if I should purchase the U.S or International version. I am so glad I went with this!!!!! If you are wondering...The camera is EXACTLY the same as the U.S version. I believe the only difference is that the the international version isn't covered under the U.S warranty (just what I've heard). But it just makes sense to buy this camera with all the extras it came along with. My package also came with more extras that weren't listed above (yay). If you are a vlogger, this is a REALLY smart buy! I absolutely love the mini table top tripod that came with it, it makes it easy to walk around holding my camera. The battery life is amazing! I constantly had my camera on throughout the day vlogging and taking pictures and it lasted almost 2 days. The size is perfect for taking around, putting in your purse or even your pocket. It is VERY EASY to use! I hardly had to look at the manual, I figured out a lot of settings just by playing around with it. If you are not very photography savvy but still want to be able to produce professional looking pictures this camera is for you. And last but not lease THE QUALITY IS AMAZINGGGG. My videos + pictures look so much better. I would normally use my Nikon D2500 but it was just too big and too complicated for me to produce quality videos and images efficiently. The camera is good and new BUT I bought a bundle package for a reason, so it makes NO sense that the items sent are NOT compatible with the camera. So now I'm having to go buy those individual items again!! Making me spend more money. The cable to charge the cameras battery in a European charger and doesn't fit into my wall plugs. It didn't show that in the pictures advertising the camera. The memory cards that were sent are also not compatible so now those are going to waste and I'm gonna have to buy new ones. I would return this had i not opened things up. That's my reason for my poor rating. I'D BUY ANOTHER DIFFERENT PACKAGE ... show more
