This is the original equipment toner, which works just fine. In the past, we tried two generics, each at half the price or maybe even less, of this unit, and it ran out fast, and gave inferior printing. So, alas, just pay the premium. Not 5 stars, just because Canon is greedy

When package was opened it looked damaged. We installed it in the printer and it was not recognized. I will no longer order item from Amazon but from a local vendor.
