This camera lens combination weighs in at almost 3 lbs. IMHO, what you get in return is versatility. The focusing system is incredibly fast. Focusing is almost instantaneous. I set to spot focusing, press the shutter half way, compose and shoot. As a test of focus and clarity, I shot some billiard balls in programming mode. (Technical specs: ISO 12800, 65mm, 1/500, f/11) One of my concerns was the depth-of-field. Fortunately, I found a lilikoi (passion fruit) flower. I’ve included a picture in this review. (For anyone technical, the specs are ISO 100, Av mode, 85mm, 1/25 sec., f/11.) This camera lens combination will work beautifully by leaving it in Program mode, but exploring the options are rewarding and educational. I’m still learning the capabilities of the camera. Worked great… until it didn’t. I always used the sd card for my photos. For some reason (?) it switched to the CF express card. I momentarily thought I had lost all my pictures from that shoot. Then I discovered Canon Connect wouldn’t display my photos from the CF card. Now my Canon Connect won’t connect my iPhone to my Canon R5 Mark II. The Canon Community has apparently been having this problem for a while, too. My camera and iPhone softwares are all up to date. When I/you spend this kind of money on a camera I/you’d expect better reliability. ... show more
