  • A Great Kit for Creators
Style: R10 Content Creator Kit
This kit has everything you need to start creating content including the microphone. This is my first Mirrorless DSLR and I'm surprised how light it is compared to my regular DSLR. Its easy to use and you can get the hang of it quickly. It's great with photo's and video but remember there is no Stabilizer on this camera. So if your planning on walking around while recording even with the Monopod it will still be shakey al things considering. Honestly this is a great price for the awhole kit which I recommend. ... show more

  • Worth every penny
Style: R10 Body Only
For background I am a beginner automotive photographer. I mainly do outdoor private shoots. I previously had the Cannon EOS R100 and while it was great to learn photography I quickly started hitting its limitations. I was looking at either the R50 or this R10 for my next upgrade. I think this was the best decision I made as far as purchasing a camera for automotive photography. Here is my pros and cons list: Pros: -Excellent ergonomics -Car subject detect for autofocus -Best autofocus I have ever used (I no longer use manual focus because it’s that good) -The build quality is much higher than that of the R100 or R50 -The flip out screen is amazing -Being the first of the “prosumer” Cameras I get much more control -The image quality with the same glass blows the R-100 out of the water -Lower ISO with the same exact conditions compared to the R-100 -There are now 3rd party RF lenses available from Sigma and Tamron -USB recharging Cons: -The battery life is shorter than what I would like but spares are cheap -No weather sealing Overall this camera is a great pic. I have no limitations in my automotive photography with this camera. It is also great for wildlife and portraits. If you are serious about photography I would skip both the R100 and R50 and go straight to this. This camera sits right in the sweep spot of price per performance. TLDR it’s an amazing camera most people unless you are a hardcore professional shooter will never be help back by this camera. ... show more

  • smaller sized mirrorless camera.
Style: R10 18-150 IS STM
First the bad thing: It does go through batteries... one per day easy. Make sure to get several and a charger. I got a charger that uses an USB port so I can charge on the fly with a USB power brick. Now the rest.... really good camera. Easy to use, great feedback when adjusting the non auto modes.. I took it on a one month trip after two weeks of buying it. Played with it for maybe 10 hours before we went. It has lots of features that I forgot how to use... perhaps a small laminated cheat sheet would make things easier... like a map of the very menus and instructions on the most likely uses: multiple shots, video, panorama, timer, etc... But if you want to take good pictures, the camera works very well. I ended up doing half my shooting in full auto mode and the other half in aperture and manual modes. The built in display works really well and I appreciate that old "mirror" sound when I take a shot. I put a 1TB card in it, took like 1000 shots in "high quality JPEG" and barely made a dent into the memory. I realize I should have stored them in RAW but this was for a vacation so I needed to make it fast and easy and the quality of the shots is very good. The bluetooth interface to my phone was painless, I should figure out how to run it with the PC. Right now I just pull the memory out of the camera and pop it into a reader to download to the PC. ... show more

  • I bought this to replace a Canon Mark 5.
Style: R10 18-150 IS STM
I came back from an overseas trip with my old gear and decided it is time to buy something lighter to carry around. I carried a L-class lenses I sold my old kit to an online retailer and took the proceeds to buy this R10 kit. It is light weight and takes great pictures. However, the kit Lense was not satisfactory for taking family pictures in low light. I ended up buying another Sigma lens and I am now happy with it. The sigma lense added wight and I needed to buy an adapter - if you want to be able to take low light pictures then you need faster glass which will be heaver. Controls are easy to use and II love being able to take pictures of myself using the app - a nice feature when you want to take a family picture. In hindsight, I should have waited to sell my L-class lenses until I received the camera as I might have kept my favorite lens, Note, I am not a professional photographer. ... show more

  • Great camera for beginners!
Style: R10 18-150 IS STM
Bought this as my first "pro" camera ever and eventually returned it for the R7 only because it was kinda small for my big hands. However it's a great camera that takes great pictures! If you have shaky hands like me i'd also recommend going with the R7 unless every lens you get has IS in it. IBIS on the R7 works great! The other downside to the R10 is the super tiny viewfinder. Not sure why but it seems to be cropped for no reason other than they wanted to cut corners to make it cheaper. Makes the other info screens almost unusable because you can't even see your picture then with all the stuff on the sides. The lens is amazing and you should definitely go with this one over the other kit lens. It's so versatile I rebought it with the R7 just so I have that 18-49 and 51-99 range that I am missing in my bag. ... show more

  • Be prepared to read!
Style: R10 18-150 IS STM
Great camera but requires a big learning curve. It's ok if you don't mind using the Auto setting until you learn the camera. The manual is 916 pages and is not included with the camera. That was not a typo. The manual is 916 pages. However, like the majority of Canon cameras, it takes great pictures. This is my 5th Canon camera. I previously owned Ricoh's, Minolta's, Polaroids and Pentax. I will admit, I am partial to Canon. I am not sure there is a simpler mirrorless APS-C camera out there, there probably is but Canon's RF mount lenses are terrific. ... show more
