    • Great lens but listing price constantly fluctuates
The lens is great for the price! I used to own the 85 1.2 (but sold it years ago)- it was heavy and very slow to focus. Later decided I wanted a 85 prime again- This lense fit the bill and is lightweight, fast, still produces a beautiful creamy background blur at 1.8! The only reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 is because I’ve never seen a listing price change as much as this! When I originally ordered it was $499- over a week went by and it hadn’t shipped yet but was now $399! So I canceled and reordered, saving me $100!!! Since then I’ve seen it change at least once a week- $474/$480 and no these arnt “sales”, the original listing price just keeps fluctuating! ... show more

Is it weird if I told you that when I tested this new lens on my new camera, I almost cried? I'm serious, there were almost tears. And I'm not a very emotional person. The lens is that awesome. It's a game changer. The bokeh is beautiful. I'm taking my amateur photography to another level and this lens is going to take me all the way. It's sharp, fast to focus, and a sturdy weight. This lens is not as sharp as nikon 85mm 1.8, but still very good value for money.

I'm an armature photographer. I get better portrait results with my small children with this lens than I do the 50mm 1.4 This lens has a more natural look and is also good in low light. ****I have upgraded camera bodies. Went from Canon T2i to 5D MKiii. Lens is still good but now that I have L lenses too I realize lens is slow to focus. I still like it and it is a great value. ... show more
