I am amazed at how great this lens is, even in 2024, so many years after its original release date. The lens is in great condition, and the pictures taken are very sharp. I am using it on a Canon R6 mark II with an RF to EF adapter from Canon. All functions of the lens and camera work together seamlessly. I have one of these lenses and it is getting old, but I know what they are capable of. This is prime glass and should deliver amazing results. Unfortunately this particular lens did not work out for me. The focus was mediocre.

Have on Canon 5D M4. I was photographing baseball, and without the 2x converter and in full frame camera. So ended up having to crop a great deal. The shortstop was so far away, wondered if was worth taking the photo. (Likely not using 1/10th of the area). I cropped it and then increased to 100%. I was completely amazed how much detail was still in the photos. I was shooting at 2.8 and 1/5000 at ISO 400. I shoot off monopod most of the time, although I do keep in my car and shoot a lot handheld. This replaced a 1st generation 70-200L IS I bought in 2006. After approximately 1/2 million photos, it wasnt sharp anymore. (Yes, will have to see about getting it cleaned, it likely is still a great lens) ... show more
