Having an older 5D Mark IV, I a fast lens than my Canon 17-40 F4L and didn't want anything as heavy as the Tamron 15-30 F2.8VC. I also didn't want to spend $2300 for a new version of this lens. I felt more comfortable getting a renewed lens which I felt has been tested and rebuilt vs just a used lens. So far it looks pretty much new and seems to work perfectly. I read other reviews that said the item arrived like new. But I never believed it would be true. There is no way to tell this apart from a new lens. Extremely pleased with the price and value.

    • Outside looked great, inside was corroded and rusted
Bought this lens used, tested it initially and it worked. Went on a vacation trip, and it stopped working after 30 images. After looking closer, there is rust and corrosion on the inside and the lens won't communicate with the camera.

    • Auto Focus Didn’t Work
A great lenses but unfortunately the auto focus feature didn’t work right out of the box. I doubt it was property tested. Tried it on two camera bodies. I returned it but will try one more time before giving up on Amazon renewed lenses.

I really loved this lens. Its autofocus was awesome, and that was despite the fact that I used an EF-RF adapter with my R5. It's an amazing combination, and I got some really awesome shots that I'm proud of. It's the closest one can get to having a winning combination for landscape photography, and I could not stop bragging about how awesome this lens is. But... I noticed something odd when reviewing my pics. It's only when I shot towards the sky that I notice a strange black squiggly line in my photo. This is in many of them too. I uploaded two pics showing you what I mean. I can edit it out using AI software. But, this is in a lot of my pictures. I think it's a scratch in the lens or on one of the coatings. I'm not sure. But, whatever it is, it's in a lot of my photos. So, it's not really feasible for me to edit my pictures many times over just for the awesome quality. Long story short, the lens worked great. But, at certain angles, it would introduce a bizarre squiggly line that was constant regardless of how the photo was taken. As such, I decided to return it. If you can scoop up one of these lenses renewed, and it works no prob without any black squiggly thingies, keep it. 100% keep it. But, be careful and keep an eye out for these. ... show more
