  • Superior product compared to FishPro
Color: Grey
At first I purchased FishPro latest model for almost $300 ... And it was terrible . I returned that camera and purchased CanFish . I am happy to report that I am definitely more satisfied with CanFish . The main thing you need to realize is that this camera is not made to watch live what's going on with your bait . It's made to record and watch later. You can see real life footage when you fishing with provided bobbler at close range , but you will not get live signal at deeper depth If you plan on fishing a long day, I recommend purchasing 2 . That way you can one charging and one recording ... But overall quality of the video and design/functionality is superior compared to FishPRO . ... show more

  • Cure the curiosity in fishing Cure the curiosity in fishing
Color: Grey
Every time I go fishing and watch the float moving on the water, I can’t help but wonder what’s happening down below. Later, I learned that there are underwater cameras for that. So I decided to buy one. There are two types of such products. The first one is the wireless type, which is the one I bought. The other type is wired, and it has a cable connecting the camera. The advantage of the wired one is that you can watch the footage in real time and cheaper. The wireless one, however, is much more convenient to use and doesn’t affect casting. But because water blocks the signal significantly, it can’t transmit in real time. You have to wait until it’s pulled out of the water before you can view the footage. The quality of the videos is good. So, if you plan to buy one like this, you’ll need to be okay with that limitation. ... show more

  • Keep getting error messages every other time I use it [UPDATED 11-18-24
Color: Grey
The video quality is pretty good and it’s nice to see what is down on the ocean floor. I’ve been using it for deep water fishing in SoCal. Going on a lobster hooping trip next so gonna use this cam. Not difficult to set up and you need the app to view the videos. Battery life kinda sucks. It says two hours, but I’ve only been getting an hour and half. My main issue is that I keep getting “memory is corrupted” and “no memory card inserted” messages. Had to format the device each time to get it to work again. Not sure if mine is faulty or what. [UPDATE] Pretty sure I made a review already after buying this camera and tested it out a few times already as seen in the first part of my review. Well it's been a few more weeks now and I took it on several fishing and lobster hooping trips with me now and this thing is totally useless. Keep getting the same errors and now IT WON'T EVEN CONNECT TO THE APP! And the one time I got it to connect after updating the app, all my footage was gone...... I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the lobsters crawling into my hoopnet. The capt and crew were excited to see as well, but the camera fails each time to record. The battery life is horrid too. [UPDATE AS OF SEPT. 2025] Tried using it again recently and when I try to open the video file, nothing comes up. Already tried formatting the device and still nothing. ... show more

  • Thanks

Okay let me tell you about this camera, it has the best picture quality, I was fishing for Bass or halibut but with no luck, when I removed the camera from pole that's when something hit my pole, it broke my leader but I don't know what it was but because I followed directions if the camera was on my pole I would have not lost it because it was on my line, This is the best way to record your fishing experience, You will have the catch from beginning to end, people I been fighting for many years but even though I can't see it in real time but I can go home and watch it over and over again, today is April 20 even though I didn't catch nothing but my friend did, just think how nice it would be to see that moment over and over again, Look Chasing from my experience is not out to just sell a product if for some reason you didn't get what you want they will work with you to make it right, It's been a long time since I met a company like this, I give them 5 stars and if I see something I'm interested in i won't hesitate to buy it, I can go on and on but the point I'm trying to make is talk to them if you're not satisfied with your purchase they will do everything to try to make it right, It's nice to know that company like this still exist, I love this fishcam but understand it's functional, We all want more but we need to be realistic,I need to stop but think you Chasing and when you make rocket cameras that can reach space keep the price affordable. . ... show more

  • If you want wifi issues then this cam is for you
Color: Green
Was hopeful after using other cameras. The quality of video is great. Here comes the big BUT Connecting to the device device is very difficult. Turn on the off wifi and device rinse and repeat, and you may get to download or watch your video. I cannot stand behind this product.

  • Awesome Fishing Camera
Color: Grey
I tried this fishing camera on a recent trip, and it’s a really cool piece of gear. The video quality is clear, and the wide-angle view lets you see a lot underwater, including how the lure is moving. It’s fun and actually helpful to understand what’s going on below the surface.

This underwater fishing camera exceeded my expectations! Crystal-clear 1080p footage and the wide-angle view let me see exactly how fish react to my lure. Easy to use, charges wirelessly, and the app works smoothly—perfect for serious anglers or curious hobbyists! worth the money.

  • Solid Underwater Fishing Camera With Great Potential — Needs a Few Tweaks
Color: Grey
Update: After several fishing trips using this camera, I’ve unfortunately grown frustrated with it. The biggest issue is battery life. It drains faster than expected, and I’ve had multiple instances where it stopped recording mid-drop because the battery ran out. That defeats the whole purpose when you’re trying to capture key moments underwater. The connectivity is also unstable. Staying connected through the app can be inconsistent, and checking recording status or remaining battery life isn’t very intuitive. It’s not easy to quickly confirm whether it’s actively recording, which has led to some lost footage. Another concern is heat. When connected to the app, the unit gets very warm — surprisingly warm — almost like a small hand warmer. I guess that’s a bonus in winter, but it doesn’t inspire confidence for long-term durability. Overall, while the concept is great, the user experience hasn’t been reliable enough for me. I’m currently looking into other underwater camera options that are more user-friendly and dependable for long offshore trips Original: The CanFish Fishing CamX Camera is honestly impressive for the price. The video quality is clear, colorful, and perfect for checking bottom structure, bait behavior, or watching fish interact with your lure. I’ve already used it on my YouTube channel (Fishing Tackle Channel), and the footage came out surprisingly good. There are a lot of things I really like: • Completely sealed design — no ports, no openings, no exposed parts. This means zero worry about leaks or water damage. For something that’s constantly being dropped into saltwater, that’s a huge plus. • Simple drop-and-go setup — just attach it to your fishing rig and send it down. • Built-in memory and battery — no SD cards to lose, no removable parts to accidentally flood. That said, there are some things the next version needs to improve: Where It Falls Short • Shakes a lot underwater. I really wish there was an optional stability fin or weight attachment to keep the camera steadier. Strong current or even mild drift makes the video wobble more than I’d like. • No expandable memory. The internal memory is sealed, so you’re stuck with whatever capacity it ships with. • Battery is sealed too. You can’t swap batteries, and you can’t charge it with anything except the included wireless charger. If you’re on a long fishing trip and forget the dock, you’re out of luck. • Phone connection is slow. When you’re actively fishing, you don’t want to spend time messing with WiFi connections. It works, but it’s slower than I’d prefer. • No stand-alone record button. You must connect to your phone to manage recording, and it automatically starts recording once paired—which gets annoying. • Software needs refinement. The app is functional but feels like a first-generation release. More features and faster responsiveness would make the experience much smoother. Final Thoughts Despite the issues, the camera does record very well, and the footage quality is absolutely usable for fishing content. For a new product from a small business, it shows a lot of promise. With a few software updates and hardware refinements, it could easily become one of the best value underwater fishing cameras on the market. Would I buy it again if I lost mine? Maybe — I’d want to see whether they improved the app and added some stability features. But for now, it’s good enough that I’m still using it and getting great footage from it. Overall, a solid underwater camera with excellent potential and great value for the price. ... show more
