IN A NUTSHELL Beautiful chandelier, but thoughtless packaging means you have a good chance of getting a cracked unit. Nonetheless, it's fixable and I would buy again. EXPLANATION On the first chandelier I received, all 4 spokes on the top of the metal frame had snapped apart, making the chandelier unhangable. I thought it was a fluke, so I contacted Amazon and a replacement was sent. Unfortunately, this one was also snapped in the exact same location. Looking through the reviews on Amazon and other websites, I saw other customers had the same problem. I realized the reason for the snapping was improper packaging from Canarm. The metal frame is a couple inches taller than the fabric drum, so in the box, there is a 2 inch gap between the top of the drum and the top of the frame. There should be a piece of styrofoam between the two to cushion the top of the frame, but apparently that obvious solution escaped Canarm. As a result, stacking anything on top of the box (which definitely happens when shipping) would easily cause the top of the metal frame to snap. After realizing this, I concluded it made little sense to request a third chandelier because it would likely be snapped. Exhausted by our chandelier search, we took a discount for the damaged chandelier from Amazon and decided to try to fix the frame. To repair the frame, we first tried soldering. This worked temporarily, but the metal did not solder like typical metal, and it re-snapped when we tried to install the chandelier. We then tried epoxy glue, and this worked, so that's our recommendation for fixing the snaps (see second photo). I should also note that as long as all 4 spokes are not cracked, you can probably hang the lamp without fixing the frame as the weight of the lamp is supported through the central rod that runs the height of the lamp. That being said, we felt unsafe without fixing the snapped spokes. Once fixed, installation was relatively straightforward and took a few hours. SO, after all that hassle what do I think of the actual chandelier? The chandelier is absolutely lovely and I'm really glad we decided to keep it. The metal frame lends a traditional feel to the chandelier, while the fabric drum and overlapping curved design of the frame modernize it, yielding a great transitional piece. I originally considered the Troy 28954967 Five Light Silver Gold Drum Shade Pendant , but this is an excellent and drastically more affordable alternative. In terms of lighting, 3 bulbs was sufficient light for our space and the fabric shade and glass diffuser softened the light. Some people commented that the chandelier was bigger than expected, but it was a great size for our space. Tip: To help determine an appropriate chandelier size, add the length and width of your space and covert to inches. Our room is ~10x14 ft, so it could carry up to a 24" diameter chandelier. This 20.5" chandelier fit perfectly. We paired the chandelier with 3 Kobi Electric K0M9 15-watt (75-Watt) A19 LED 4000K Neutral White Light Bulb, Dimmable (chose neutral 4000k because 2700-3000 soft white feels too dim and yellow to me, but 5000k daylight is too harsh for a dining room), and 2gig WD500Z-1 Z-Wave Wall Dimmer (White) . Everything works seamlessly. Overall, this chandelier was a bit of a hassle, but I'm glad we stuck with it. It fits our space well and looks far more expensive than the ~$100 we spent.on it. 5 stars for the lamp, -2 stars for the packaging defect and subsequent hassle.

Very happy with this light. It puts out a lot of light but softened light so it's not harsh. Really updated and brightened up our space above the breakfast table!

I am very happy with this light! It gives off lots of soft bright light in our dining room. Easy to install and no parts were damaged. We have 9' ceilings and hung it about 36" above our dining table. The shade is a true pure white even with the light turned on.

This is pretty big! For my rather small table, anyway. I like the geometric interest this light provides. The underside is frosted glass - for this pricepoint that was a nice surprise. I kind of wish the fabric touched the metal on the sides, but on the plus side it does create interesting shadows when the light is turned off. I have three very bright led bulbs on an led dimmer switch. The bulbs are a standard sized base.

I bought two of these for our kitchen remodel, there were no surprises during installation. The fit and finish was very nice and exactly as pictured. Both survived shipped without any damage to include the glass disk diffuser that installs on the bottom. I used 3, 100 watt equivalent LED bulbs and the output is really nice and not overpowering at all, the shade and glass diffuser do an impressive job of controlling the light. Only debate now wether to use a warmer or cooler bulb.

These are a beautiful addition to my dining room. I have 2 over my dining room table and they really pull everything together. The quality is great and the size is substantial without being overpowering. No problems with installation.

We turned this pendant light into a swag lamp for our living, room which was really easy with a lamp cord and it looks beautiful! The only advice I would give, if you are using it for ambient lighting, that even 1 Light bulb at 60w (led equivalent) t was suoer bright. So if you're using it for an entry it will blow your socks off!
