Wrote technical support and after a few weeks of trouble shooting, they sent me a new unit free of charge. I appreciate that kind of service. I replaced an old tank water heater that was leaking, so glad I did, this one saves you money because it turns on only when you open your hot water spigot. Otherwise it does not consume any natural gas until its "full on". looking to buy another one.

I've bought two of these, the first one did not work straight out of the box. Amazon would not do a swap/replacement, so I had to return the first, and purchase a second - tying up my credit card. Got the second one on 4/11, and installed the next day. Worked great. Hot water, plentiful, good flow. Here we are, a month on, and this one has died. Acting like the first one, dead screen like there's no power. Update 5/24/21: two hours on chat on 5/22, and three hours on the phone today, offering up this feedback to cust service- "Astonished that there are no escalation path for quicker shipping. I find your arrival date of 5/30 to 6/4 unacceptable, especially in light of having recieved TWO defective units already. Two weeks without hot water on the first and second order, and now another two weeks for the replacement to arrive. I expect Amazon to do the right and fair thing, and stop quoting policy. The media could not be loaded. We liked the price and the reviews on this water heater, so decided to give it a try. It arrived with a broken gas valve, so I contacted customer service. They were incredibly responsive, and made sure I got a working gas valve quickly. We did end up putting it closer to the gutter than is suggested by the manufacturer. We didn't feel like the heat that comes out was that hot (you can put your hand right in it) It's nice and quiet, and the water is staying a constant temperature. I washed 5 dogs the other day, and the water warmth was perfect the entire time. We have 7 kids, and are really happy not to be running out of hot water for showers. Only thing we weren't nuts about, is the wired control panel doesn't have a removable plug. So, it will have to stay outside with the water heater (it does have a really long wire, but we don't want to have a wire leading in through the outside door) So far so good! While other customers have complained about lackluster customer service from Camplux my experience was quite the opposite. For whatever reason (perhaps related to the incredibly unusual and intense rain storms we’ve had in LA?) my Camplux water heater started throwing a code after being installed for a little over 3 months. I reached out to Camplux, worked with them on troubleshooting steps and ultimately, after a few days of back and forth we figured out it could be a couple of different things. I was ok with swapping out parts to attempt a repair but to ensure we were back up and running as soon as possible they insisted on sending me another brand new replacement water heater. They literally could not have done any more than they did and they couldn’t have been any more helpful. The unit itself does everything our prior tankless did but unlike the old one it didn’t cost $1700. As long as it holds up I see no reason why anyone shouldn’t consider buying this model for their home. ... show more
