  • Works in my RV used as a replacement HOT water heater I can take hot showers.
Style: ‎6.5 Gallons
I like that this actually works for me. I live in a RV full-time. I had a leaky RV hot water heater. I found that It was more economical to replace my built in RV hot water heater with this. I do not need the propane that is part of my built-in Hot water heater. This does NOT blow my 15 amp fuse. That was a major concern. I moved my pex pipe and electric to a cabin that is in a different spot as it will not fit into the small space where the old hot water was. Make sure the 1/2 connections are wide enough to fit over the ntp plastic connections the are on the camplux. I found that what I had which is correct 1/2 NTP but I needed to go and get a different connection as I could not thread over the plastic threads to wide for my 1/2 NTP, Just check that first as what I had you could easily put over a aluminum connection on the stock tank. That is not a show stopper and it took no time to find what fit. What I found was this. My old hot water heater using electric only, this is the compare. It was a 6 gallon tank. This one from Camplux is a 6.5 Gallon heater. I picked this because I need a high temperature, such as 135 Fahrenheit. I only care really about hot water and showers. The old hot water was at 140 degrees set and you can not change it unless you buy new parts. So I could take a 10-minute hot shower. You just have to in the RV get used to turning the cold on to about 90 percent and 10 percent hot water, and it works like any other shower. You of course can not in any way stand under pure hot water. So would this work for a shower, I hoped. I hooked everything up. What I was really happy about is that the Camplux is insulated very well and no heat comes off of it. Most RV hot water heaters use Styrofoam as the insulator. It looked like a igloo cooler as that's standard as well as feeling the heat just come off of the built in heater just float into the house . I also picked this because you can turn the temperature to MAX which is 135 Degrees as far as my thermometer is showing. This allows for a long shower as cold showers well are not fun. So with the Camplux I can take the exact same shower. My thoughts are no heat is coming off this Camplux heater as its well insulated. It has a light that comes on when its heating. So far the light is off most of the time and that tells me it's not struggling to maintain my temperature I need. NO fuses are blowing as stated 1400 what's which is under my 15 amp limit. I also decided to add a few new filters in front of my water supply as I apparently have iron in my water as the old hot water tank was full of the orange material. After a few weeks now, I am happy. For those who need to use the Hot water as a main shower in the RV this works great as it is very close to what is already installed. Can not say how happy I am that this holds up to what I had that is broke now my old hot water tank it had a slow leak and after months I figured it out. Also the recovery time is pretty fast just as well as the old heater. ... show more

  • hot water yes!
Style: ‎2.5 Gallons
We installed this handy little water heater in our trailer for cooking competition and it works great. Plenty of hot water and no pressure loss from heater to sink. We will see how long it lasts. We just installed it 2 days ago.

  • Perfect size water heater for food trailer
Style: ‎2.5 Gallons
I installed this compact water heater on my food trailer. It was easy to install, fit into a small space, and is big enough to power my handwashing sink and three compartment sinks. Make sure to follow manufactures installation instructions so that you don’t accidentally damage it during installation. Fill with water completely before turning the unit on. All around great product with a great price. Would give this product 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend this water heater! ... show more

  • 10 gallon water heater
Style: ‎10 Gallons
Update 07/03/24 The seller responded & was extremely helpful & quick response, they sent us a copy of the manual on the adjustment procedure, so we adjusted the temp to the 66°c mark & the water is nice & hot now, but very satisfied, still no pilot light or on/off switch, wired it to a 20 amp rated plug cord, it is just for a temporary period. Very disappointed in the 10 gallon water heater, first there is NO on off switch? There is NO pilot light indicating whether it's on? The water is not even Luke warm, it just above cold, it is only piped to a shower (tempary) & is only 12 feet from shower head to water heater, for the price very disappointing. ... show more

  • Poor Quality
Style: ‎2.5 Gallons
The media could not be loaded. I knew something was a bit off when I noticed that the inlet and outlet threads flaked off powder as I was removing the plastic protection caps (could be coating or corrosion). I disregarded that and continued to install the unit. After flowing through it for the first time, I immediately noticed brown water flowing out when I opened all the valves. Previous to installing the unit, the water ran clear, so it was obvious that the source of contamination was from the reservoir/unit. I then closed all the valves and then noticed a leak coming from the cover! I don’t know how this is leaking from the cover, but I basically had to reverse my entire installation, repackage, and return all the supplies I bought separately. What a waste of time! I didn’t even get a chance to plug in the unit so I can’t comment on the heat. The good thing about this product is that it comes with decent mounting hardware. You have the option to mount this on the wall if you want. Comes with a bracket, two lug screws, or you can use screws designed for concrete. If you want to throw the dice and still decide to buy the unit, you’ll typically need the following: 1/2” FIP x 1/2” FIP Hose (Outlet to Faucet) 1/2” FIP x 3/8” Compression (Supply to Unit, although you can reuse existing) 3/4 in. Schedule 40 PVC Male Adapter (For the relief valve) 3/4 in. Sch 40 PVC Pipe and Elbow Recommend GFCI Extension Cord that can handle the wattage I’m not sure if I just received a bad/used unit or not, but after wasting my time and experiencing the poor quality, I rather stick to another brand. It’s a “good value” for a reason in my opinion. Also note that some of the product photos don’t show the relief valve. You’ll have to consider where you want this thing to relief water if it gets over pressurized or too hot. It must follow code. If you have a standard residential bathroom, finding an extra drain besides your faucet sink or bath/shower is going to be difficult. You should consider the relief valve drain location for you and your family’s safety. The amount of power this thing is designed to draw is suitable for most house holds that hold a 15 amp breaker (common). It still leaves room for other things such as lights and small items. This is why I chose the unit. ... show more
