I got this to replace a unit from another company purchased last year with a one-month warranty. It worked fine last year, and again when I pulled it out of winter storage this year... but only once, then it completely quit. This one has a one-year warranty, so maybe it's better. It looks like it was made in the same factory with many of the same parts, and it mounted with exactly the same screw holes as the old one, so I'm only semi-optimistic about its longevity. At least for now it's working, and I must give it credit for producing hotter water than the old unit. That one was highly variable in the amount of heat it put out, and sometimes couldn't quite reach the temperature I like for a shower. This Camplux unit easily hits the temperature I like (115 degrees F, according to its display), and will go much hotter. The only fault I can identify so far is the sensitivity of the settings. The smallest change in the control dials will result in a big change in temperature. On the plus side, it is very repeatable from shower to shower, so doesn't require a lot of fiddling once you get it set the way you like it. This unit comes with some adapters to convert its British pipe threads to standard American garden hose threads, but that might not be exactly what you want, so be prepared to purchase other adapters. Other than that, it's easy to hang on a wall and simple to operate. I just hope this one lasts. ... show more

Absolutely amazing product. Built an outdoor shower and didn’t want to go through the trouble of tying into my house plumbing. This heater has exceeded all expectations. I do have some plumbing experience and decided to go with 1/2” pex and fittings instead of garden hose right into heater. If you go that route, note that you will need to order some fittings going from 3/4” GHT to NPT to have fitting work. This was well worth it to allow for me to tee off and have fixture be able to utilize cold water only if we wanted or to mix cold into hot water and not have to mess with dials to adjust heat. I purchased this last year but just took it out of the packaging this morning as I never had a need until now to use it. Everything was carefully hooked up per instructions and initially it appeared to be working out just fine, hot water was coming out. However, things quickly got worse. The flames in the unit begin to vary in size even on the lowest setting and the unit would shut off randomly because of overheating. The water coming out the end was scalding and steaming. I looked at the back of the unit and the metal was scorched and the label melted on the side of the unit. Luckily this was a temporary test run and not installed on a wood platform as that would’ve caused a fire. Also someone could’ve got seriously burned if using as a shower because the temp was not consistent. I would recommend spending a little more for a more reliable unit or maybe I just got a defect not sure? Unfortunately I am outside my return window because I took so long to test but just wanted to share my experience. Plus instructions are not clear about how to adjust or set the correct heat and temperature using the dials, the unit also would immediately shut off if the water side knob was slightly turned higher than the lowest setting. ** would like to amend my review as Camplux quickly reached out to me in order to rectify the issue and safety concerns I had faced with my defective unit. Bought this to make a portable pet shower. Works awesome to bathe dogs and mules . I've also used it myself. Very happy with this product!! Animals are happy they don't get cold showers.

For the price I was expecting better quality and something that would work and be safe to use. It basically doesn’t work following the provided user instructions/ safety procedures. The heating unit will not light unless there is low flow, which directly contradicts the directions “start with high flow and low temperature.” I was able to get the heating unit to engage with low flow and high temp which creates water that is unsafe and too hot to safely use. The water and heat control knobs are loose and have a ton of “play” which isn’t conducive for fine tuning temperature even if it did heat properly. The handle/head leaks water out of the on/off button and when I consulted the instructions on how to clean the head (which is completely unnecessary as I am using it for the first time right out of the box) the handle/ head I have is different from the one in the instructions.
