Alright, let's see what we can say about this. I bought what I thought was going to be a cheap kit to keep in my JEEP for basic off-roading. What I got was something that far surpasses anticipated. Each piece of this kit feels good and beefy in the hand. It comes in a nice hard case, ready to go. Now there are a few smaller cheap, components thrown in to fill out some of basics. But overall you get more for bang for the buck whith this kit than I've seen on Amazon for a while now. I have found this kit to be too nice to just store in my JEEP for the fear of someone breaking into my car to take it. I now keep it with my camping gear. The media could not be loaded. I haven't tested it in the field yet, so my rating is based solely on the small tests I did at home. So far everything works well. I didn't have any problems like a bent handle, nor did my stuff arrive scratched or dinged. The pocket knife is indeed worthless. I'll get it sharpened and go from there. There's a design flaw on the hood of the ax, see video. I liked the flint, and it worked well. I never used one before, and was eager to try it. It comes coated in paint that I had to shave off to try out. This is when the back of the blade of of the pocket knife came in handy. I'm considering getting a wood dowel to put inside the handles to make the system sturdier because the image of the bent sections concerns me. I conducted the tests in my backyard, and conditions in the field may be harsher causing damage the handle system. I want to try the can opener in the multi-tool next. It looked dull, and I want to see if this may make it harder to open cans. I don't have a need to open a can right now, and I don't want to open something just for the sake of testing it out. I would have appreciated a manual or guide of some sort. There are tools that I don't know what they are for or how to use them. It would be good to know what each nook and cranny are for. For example, I never used a whistle like this one before. It took me little time to figure out, by accident, that I need to put my finger on the opening at the bottom. I also expected directions on what to use with the flint. I decided to use the knife in the end, but I'm still wondering if there's something in the multi-tool specifically for this task. ... show more

This kit does so many things. I keep it under the back seat of my pick up truck for emergency use but it could be used anytime. Good quality, especially for the money.
