  • If you are looking to get into the hammock hobby or backpacking please read this.
Yes, I'm giving this a 3 star because it misleading--it is not awful, but you should know a few things about this hammock. First off if you are looking get into this hobby because you are a side sleeper in bed, and you love camping but hate being incredibly sore from sleeping on the ground, and you are finding the price and options of this hammock appealing then please take my advice. This is a gathered end hammock, the idea of it is if you sleep slightly diagonal it will open up and not hug your shoulders. This is only if you hang the foot end higher than the head end so your torso is flat and your head is towards the top. This hammock will do this very well and comfortably if you are not tall, say 5'2" or under. This is because the length when converted from centimeters to feet is 8'5". If you are 6' you will fit in this hammock but it will hug your shoulders unless you hang your head and feet into the mosquito netting quite a bit and then it still will be snug and mosquitoes will be eating at your dome. A tall person that wants to try this hobby and wants to get that sleep everyone is raving about will need a 10' plus in length hammock. The general rule is that the longer it is the less shoulder and calf pressure--a flatter lay and sleep that makes you not want to get up once its sunny. The misleading part is it is not a double hammock, yes you can put two people in this hammock, but it will squeeze the two people together. This is just how gathered end hammocks are, fine to cuddle but not to sleep in. Also there is no weight rating on the caribiners,a good caribiner has a weight rating and is not expensive, something to consider if you buy this, the seller claims the weight rating is 150 kg, this is 330 lbs or 165 a side. Yes they will hold my 200 lbs, but as hammockers will say "don't hang it more than you're willing to fall." So, if you are short or you want one for your wife or kids this is a great beginner hammock and is made of quality materials excluding the suspension. My 8 year old begs to sleep in it and my 5'2 wife is completely comfortable in it. It was my first and after I bought it I found I couldn't get comfortable. I did some more reading and found out that it wasn't good for my 6'1" body. So I got a 10.5' name brand that looks similar to this model. I have a bad back and neck, and I will tell you, I wake up sore in my memory foam bed, but I feel like a million bucks in a properly set gathered end hammock. Now, after only a month I will be spending big money on my third and final long term hammock. Hammocking is an awesome hobby if done right, do some reading first on them and how to set them up. FWIW this is a great hammock for its price if you're vertically challenged. Its stitching has held up compared to my name brand one. The only thing I don't like is that the storage pocket is on the other side of the entrance so you can't put your glasses or phone in it if you are inside the hammock. I hope you find this helpful, I am a verified purchaser with no special promotion. It came quick through prime and the quality of the nylon and mesh bug net is excellent, the suspension can easily be upgraded. My daughter uses it 2-3 nights a week along my side. I would suggest a cheap underquilt for the underside when you purchase this. You can find one of those on Amazon for appx $60, it will keep your back and bottom from getting cold as your sleeping bag does not hold heat compressed underneath as this happens in any hammock. This is a great hobby and I hope this info helps everyone to enjoy it. Cheers ... show more

  • “Good enough for who it’s for,”Is their company motto.
Only problem is it wasn’t the tidy bundles of rope I expected. Just looks half-a$$ed thrown together. Works and look great though. Will get the job done.

  • frustration mostly my own inexperience
never got to use it so can't review it properly but will share my experience a few simple instructions from the manufacturer would have likely saved me hours of frustration! lots of googling finally told me what i needed but i was so frustrated by that point, not to mention eaten up by mosquitoes while trying to hang this, that i put it aside and then never got back to it (before returning home from puerto rico where i ordered it). my tips: don't remove the carabiners or cords at the ends of the hammock unless you know for sure how these things work and more importantly how to put those back! mine came with the short pair of cords through those casings and the carabiners knotted in those short cords. i mistakenly thought my set up needed the long cords that had been provided to be swapped out for the short. nope...the way it came was ready to hang and the longer cords are the suspension mechanism that attaches to the anchor points (trees in my case). pro seems to be well made especially for the price con strong chemical smell that decreases somewhat after it airs out for days the mosquito netting runs inside the casings at the ends of the hammock causing frustration/blockage (the cord ends or the metal cylinders want to get caught in the netting) if you have to re-thread the cord still don't know for sure what the 2 metal cylinders are for - about 6" long and maybe 1/2" diameter. decided they were provided perhaps to aid in threading the cords through the casings (in which case you'd only need one) or perhaps they are optional mini spreader bars if used inside each casing. dunno. couldn't find any tips on how to get the cords that would hold up the mosquito netting up around a tree limb that was well over my head. suppose you have to tie a weight on the end of the cord and toss it up and over but the mosquitoes are so fierce here i just couldn't bring myself to tackle the task. if i had a place to hang this that would be out of the weather i'd definitely do what's needed to get it hung so that all i'd have to do is climb inside and zip it up when i wanted to enjoy it! ... show more

  • Bought this in 2017 and I still love it.
I bought this in 2017, and I go camping at least once a year. I was sure it would break at some point with me being a 6ft 203 lbs man. It has been an amazing and comfortable hammock that was definitely worth the price.

  • I love it!!
I decided to switch up classic camping on a hard floor for camping in the trees and I will never look back. It really is the most comfortable, efficient, lightweight, sleeping shelter. Plus, it replaces a floor pad as well as tent and rolls up smaller than either one. The mosquito net is excellent and does what it should, keeps out the bugs. I am 5'6" 150lb and I fit very comfortably and even brought my 50lb dog in for a bit lol. The hammock has proven to be durable, lightweight, comfortable, and visually attractive, and I would recommend it for anyone wanting a comfortable sleeping spot. The one thing I found slightly annoying was the way the seam runs under you, it sort of breaks up the area into two spots and forces the user to lay on either side. I believe that is because it is a two person hammock though, and they are attempting to keep the two people from mashing together if they don't want to. ... show more
