Perfect for adding a little fun to outings. I used this to make kettle corn for scouts doing a conservation project. Made one batch, then let them take over as a fun group activity after the work was done. Popper is poorly constructed and handle wouldn’t thread all the way in the middle and wouldn’t tighten against the popcorn popper… wiggled loosely and wouldn’t tighten. Now well made item.

    • Good, but Be Careful!!
This gadget works well, but several things you need to know: 1) The handle is short, putting you and your hand much closer to the fire than you probably want to be. 2) Use an oven mit. I used a small silicone one that I thought would work, but steam built up inside the silicone and burned my hands. Next time I will take the grilling gloves. 3) The top of the box's catch is snug, which is good for the oil and popping but bad for the opening of the box when it's done. You'll need leverage to get it open, so already have a spot picked out where you'll set it when you're done. 4) The whole thing gets very hot, including the wooden handle and knob on the top. That's not rocket science, but if you've got kids at your campfire, don't let them open it because the wooden knob on the top also gets very hot from all the hot metal around it. It made delicious popcorn, and I'm glad to have a s'mores alternative when we go camping. Just be careful!! ... show more
