I love this hat and I'm not a hat person! I bought this hat as my job required me to work outdoors. I tried baseball caps and other styles but the bak of my neck was always exposed to the sun. Living in Florida and working outdoors in the sun year 'round this an take a toll on you more than you realize. ( especially me since I shave my head ) I had bought a few mesh baseball caps and while breathability was good I was worried it didn't protect my head from the sun. I wear sun block to help but more protection is better. I decided to research more hat options on Amazon and came across this one. The hat is very well made, excellent quality. The vents along the top of the hat allow the breeze to pass through so you can cool off quickly without having heat built up in the hat. The adjustable band has a good locking plastic cinch so you can adjust the hat to fit your head. It seems to be one size fits all, since I'm a smaller person I had no problems with fit and adjusting it to stay on my head. The brim of the hat is wide enough to protect me from the sun, it covers my eyes and the back of my neck. The brim is also the right firmness to adjust it and shape it to your preferences. I bend the back of the brim a little lower to cover my neck. The stitching is excellent and I'll soon test it for it's washability since it says it is machine washable. The hat is super light and I forget often that I'm wearing a hat. The neck strap hangs low enough to remind me or when I hit the brim on something close to me because I'm not used to the circumference of the brim on my head. If anyone is debating on buying this hat, from my perspective it's an amazing purchase. For the price, the quality and features make it a bargain.

I purchased this hat to wear on our family's week-long Orlando theme park extravaganza vacation. I was VERY happy with the hat's performance for this purpose. Here's what I loved about this hat: -Extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear. I could barely tell I had a hat on. It fit comfortably, not too tightly, and when I took it off, I did not have hat hair. -Cool to wear in the Florida heat. The fabric was cool and smooth to the touch and didn't trap heat. The ventilation band helped air flow into the hat. It did not feel wet or sweaty and if I was sweating at all, I didn't notice it. -Did indeed block the sun. I was under no illusions that my sunscreen was going to cut the mustard in all that humidity and heat (though I doggedly applied it anyway). The hat kept the sun off my face and I did not get any color of any kind, no redness, no tan, no freckles, nothing. -Stayed on during every ride due to the chin strap. It was easy to operate the strap and to loosen and tighten it on the fly. -I could abuse this hat and it still looked good. There were times I needed to take it off and I could let it dangle down my back, sit on it, wad it up and shove it in my purse, whatever I wanted to do, and it snapped back every time to its original shape. It packs absolutely flat. -Washable (I did it by hand because I was doing some other stuff by hand at the same time, but I think I could have tossed it into the machine) and dries very quickly. Looks as fresh as it did the day I bought it. -VERY cheap for the number of benefits the hat provides. I want to buy it in a few more colors for next warm season. It would be good for going to a kid's ball game, Renaissance fair, etc. It is not a "pretty" hat, per se. Wearing it; you will probably not feel like Jackie Kennedy sunning herself on the White House lawn. (I didn't.) But it absolutely does the job I bought it for and I would buy it again.

"Camo Coll Outdoor UPF 50+ boonie Hat Summer Sun Caps" There look to be a lot of different vendors selling the same hat. I bought two hats from this vendor, light gray and khaki. The gray one is a little bit bigger than the khaki so my husband (7 3/8 hat size) is using the gray-a very tight fit. There is an adjustment cord to tighten the hat which would be useful for kids. The brim is stiff enough to stay put, the ventilation in the crown works, there is no embroidery/name on the outside. 100% polyester. Made in China. Negative-The kettle drum cord lock is designed for round cords but these hats have flat fabric chin straps. The thin flat material tends to work its way around the locking mechanism which causes the lock to not work properly. I cut the strap. When it needs to be fixed, I pull the straps out of the lock and then poke them back through on the correct side of the spring. Def. a pain in the butt. Overall, a decent hat- especially for the low price. But I will be looking for either a different cord lock to put on this hat, or a different hat with a better-matched system.

Best had I've ever had! I have a tiny head--my head actually measures smaller than the smallest size indicated for this hat, but I was able to use the little bungee drawstring on the back to make it fit properly. With the chin strap cinched up, it stayed securely in place in 30 mph winds. And it even looks good! It's a little goofy, but cute. Most hats look terrible on my tiny cranium, but this one looks nice. It also stands up to extreme Texas outdoor weather in the middle of July; I was at the lake all day, and the hat kept the sun off my scalp, face and neck, it got wet and dried quickly, it stayed cool and ventilated, and again, it stayed put in strong lake winds. The quality seems decent, but I've only had it for about a week, so I can't tell yet how durable it is. I got the light sage color, which is a nice neutral color and doesn't clash terribly with the rest of my clothes. I really think I'll get another one in a different color since it's so hard to find a hat that fits well.
