I was worried at first since the flex shaft here looked like it MIGHT just be a copper or aluminum wire inside. Happy to say it seems much more sophisticated than that - I will say it bends easier than I thought it would, holds its shape perfectly, has the appropriate screw ends for camera/gopro female ends etc AND you can remove the flex shaft from the big base clamp and use the shaft with other GoPro/camera accessories. Shafts are the same size and thread pitch. Nice. A handy bonus is the click-in GoPro fixed base adapter on the second “jaw” of the base clamp. Groovy. The spring on the clamp is VERY strong and the shape of the clamp jaws makes it work great on pipe/tube stock like bikes etc or on flat stock like plywood sheets or tabletops - that’s good engineering right there. For the money; this flexneck camera mount is aces. Great value.

This gooseneck clamp mount can be used in a wide variety of applications- not just for small action cameras- but that is the highest and likely best use. The clamp itself is relatively strong, but not as strong as the OEM unit I have from one of the 'big names' I bought several years ago. That being said, this clamp is still plenty strong, and in normal use conditions, will work just fine. The gooseneck itself- is extremely stiff. While this is excellent for keeping the camera in the desired position, it makes this unit somewhat difficult to store in a convenient location- at least in my use case. Comes with a 1/4"-20 adapter for action cams- which is average in quality. For the price point of $17 at the time of receipt, this is a good value.

This thing is sturdy and grips strong! It holds my cameras where I want it to. What more could a guy ask for? Got to love a product that functions as it should and is reasonable in cost. Would recommend to anyone in need of a new camera mount, for unusual places.

It seemed to be made of heavy-duty construction, but the gooseneck broke away from the clamp the first time I tried to position the camera. Very weak metal connecting clamp to gooseneck.

I'll never get why GoPro didn't spend more time patenting mounts. This clamp is better than what they sell off their website. Strong plastic, good spring, and rubber padded grips that feel like they'll last. Bonus: the gooseneck is tight and feels like it'll stay that way for as long as I need it.
