It was either buy this new tube or clean to old camelback tube. I chose to buy a new tube because the previous one was 6-8 years old. And many of those years it was used daily for six months of the year. The packaging was adequate. It came pretty quickly. You don't really need much packaging for a tube. But it was good. It attached immediately and I let some water drain through it so that it would wash out whatever was left over from the factory in there. I use it two -three times per week and it has worked very well. I use it with a very old (15 years) camelback classic. The bladder has been changed as well. My old job (wildland firefighting) and my hobbies (running, biking and skiing) make a camelback very nice to have. I will however caution against the insulated straws unless you buy a cleaning kit and use it regularly. They mold up inside very quickly I think because of the lack of light getting in. I prefer to keep a camelback classic inside of my jacket during the winter and that does pretty well with keeping it from freezing. ... show more

Adding this for clarification as I see some users are complaining that it doesn't fit their bag. In the header for the item on Amazon it says "fits all camelbak hydration systems" - THIS IS NOT CORRECT- it fits Omega and Antidote models (this is noted lower down in the description, but is not obvious). This works great for the Omega models which I have And just replaced. It does not fit CRUX MODELS which use a different diameter tube. if you get the right size it works fine. Do be sure to warm up the tube ends by running under hot water and use a bit of rubbing alcohol to lubricate the ends when installing as it is a tight fit and this makes it much easier to install. I'm very happy with my new tube and have been using the same bag for over 6 years ... show more

It is an original Camelbak, so exactly what I needed to replace my old tube. Getting the tube off my bladder after many years require I cut it with a razor cutter, but that is not a downside, just age and a great fit.

When my kid said he couldn't get the water from his Camelbak reservoir into his mouth, I didn't know where to turn. I found this tube online and it's just what we needed. The hole down the middle of the tube allows for water to be sucked into your mouth from the reservoir. The sturdy tube walls also keep the water from spilling out onto the ground on the way to your mouth. It's blue. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone who needs to get water from a Camelbak reservoir to their mouth without any spillage. In a pinch, it can also be used as a tourniquet. ... show more
