I purchased several military surplus camel back hydration packs. The sip tubing was very hard and not vey flexible, the old tube would kink. So I ordered new sip tube and made sure I selected the mil spec hydration pack tubing. However there must have been a design change as the connectors were backwards. The hydration packs I have the female connector is on the tube and the male is on the bag. The new tube has the male connector on the tube. I had to cut the connectors off and install the old connectors on the new tube. Camelback should have the right connectors on the tubes. This tube is generally good but not completely isolates the outside heat. It is in reserve to the previous one that I already had and it is working well and in which I put an external aluminum sheet on the shoulder to better insulate the heat.

Overall and in detail excellent. Hose and insulation very good. Plenty long enough, and water in the tube while in the sun went from hot to merely warm. Quick connect clicks right into my new Fusion reservoir, and fusion reservoir has a check valve to prevent leakage when hose is removed. Like the bite valve with built in cover very much. Bite valve is also quick connect into the hose, and valve on hose prevents leakage when bite valve is removed. I've only had item for two weeks so cannot comment on durability. ... show more
