Top Amazon Reviews

  • Great customer support
Color: Aluminum/Black Pattern Name: Hydration Pack
Support: We have used CamelBak products for years now. We have never had an issue with quality. We did have an issue with the pack we received from Amazon. But a quick (I mean quick) email to CamelBak, and we were right on track again. Customer support is 10 out of 10- really. The Bag: It's true that if you don't put the lid on correctly, it will leak. HOWEVER, if you put it on correctly it WILL NOT LEAK. If you are like many hikers or mountain bike riders, you will carry with you a single water bottle. Average water bottle is about 23 oz. So 70oz is like carrying 3 water bottles. As an avid mountain bike rider, for me, this means a four hour ride on a mild day. I know this is contrary to "medical advice", but they don't have bathrooms on the trail, so figure it out. With the larger packs, I found myself continuously filling the bag half way- then coming home I found I always had water left over. Think about it- 100oz is like 4 water bottles. I don't drink that much water in an entire day! The other benefit to 70oz is that you don't have a hot bag covering your back. The small form factor makes it a convenient fit with just enough extra storage for a NORMAL bike or hike. NOTE: You should know your own body and your own needs. I'm not giving medical advice here- I'm only sharing my personal experience. Use and Care: When going out I like to put a little lemon juice in my pack. This makes the water taste better. The wide mouth on the pack allows you to easily add ice as well. Not too much ice, or you will be dry waiting for the ice to melt. After the ride I simply rinse the bag, then force some water out of the tube. Finally I throw in a paper towel or the specially made plastic inserts you can get to air dry the bag. Note: When you dump the water out of the bag a small amount of water will remain in the bag by the lid. Just run a bit of paper towel inside the bag to pull out the small amount of remaining water. The rest can easily air dry. You can also shake the bag to allow air to enter, close the lid, and blow out the last bit of water in the tube. This is just my routine, as I switch from water bottle to water bag depending on my hike/ride needs. I personally never put a cloth towel inside my water bag, and I don't use a cloth towel when cooking in the kitchen. Why blame CamelBak when you stuck a dirty rag inside your pack? Quality: I have CamelPak products that are several years old with NO sign of wear. The quality is EXCELLENT. No, I don't work for CamelBak. I give a lot of negative reviews on Amazon, but when faced with a great product like CamelBak, I have no choice to be honest and admit - they are great. ... show more

  • Water stays cool in Florida heat and humidity.
This is my second time purchasing this item. I live in Florida and use the CamelBak 2-3 times a week on my road bike for 2 hours at a time, year-round. The first one lasted 4 years and finally the constant sun and humidity destroyed the outer covering. The bladder held up very well, so I am keeping it "just in case." The bladder comes with the cap attached. It is a nuisance when trying to put ice cubes in the bladder, so I just cut the connector and keep the cap separate. This size is perfect for me as I am a small woman and it holds plenty of water for my ride. I can tuck my phone, keys, snack, and ID in the side pocket. An added bonus is that my phone stays cool for the whole ride. ... show more

  • Gets the job done.
This is perfect for quick hikes especially when it is warm. If you have access to refill it then it can be perfect for longer hikes. It doesn’t get too heavy since it is smaller and it stays very well insulated. It has a chest strap to help keep it close to your chest as well as a hook for the mouthpiece. Good quality and price. ... show more

  • Good quality
Color: Aluminum/Black Pattern Name: Hydration Pack
Good quality hydration pack. Fitz nicely- comfortable to wear. The only downside is the pockets are quite small

  • Small enough for trail/xc
I have a 3L REI hydrapak which I love for hiking/camping/daytrips but it's much too big for zooming around the bike parks so I decided to try this one out. It's compact, well-constructed, and best of all: I totally forgot it was on my back, even during gnarly downhills and the subsequent climbs back up in sticky 85*F weather. It's not big enough to pack a lunch in if you're gonna all-day bike trip, but you can definitely fit in a few tools/xtra tube/phone/keys/wallet/energy bar, and it's plenty of water for a couple of hours in the heat. I prefer REI's mouthpiece to Camelbak's, but that's just a minor thing, not related to construction. It's just harder to suck water out of this one. The drink tube does detach fully for easier cleaning/drying, which is nice. ... show more

  • Water!!
Color: Aluminum/Black Pattern Name: Hydration Pack
So I bicycle all over Florida and sometimes it’s hard to find a good drinking fountain out on the trails. This is great to have on hot days when I’m going 60 or 70 miles and don’t want to stop or can’t find a place to stop. Incredibly convenient and I love the way it’s made-the bladder holds 64oz water, comes completely out of the bag to reduce cleanup mess, and the zipper pouches are even better than my husband’s Camelbak that he bought years ago. I can fit his glasses case which is a huge plus, AS WELL as a few nutrition bars and essentials. Great purchase! ... show more

  • Bad for festivals IMO
Color: Agave Green/Mineral Blue Pattern Name: Hydration Pack
This design is a huge pain to refill at festivals, or other dirty environments where you can't set things down. It's super clumsy taking the bladder out. You'll be so much happier with the kind with a flap that let you refill without removing anything. Five stars because it works great as long as you're filling it at home and don't need to refill. And the size/weight is awesome. I'll probably just use this for short bike rides, or other applications where I can fill at home, and don't need to refill while I'm out. ... show more

  • Garbage!!!
Color: Aluminum/Black Pattern Name: Hydration Pack
Heard great things about Camelbak's. They seem to be pretty popular and convenient. Ordered 3 - THEY ALL LEAK!!! Watched the video about how to close the thing, followed the instructions and the stupid thing STILL LEAKS!!! These things are total GARBAGE!
